When i went to a gathering of ladies from our church, these two dogs wandered in an out among guests with all kinds of delightful food and never offered to beg or even go near the table.  It was a delight to have them around.  Their kitty friend wandered in, too, and they never offered to chase or molest her in any way, she seemed as comfortable around them as they were around her.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon.   Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!

This week the theme is Cookies.          

               

The little cookie cried,

and sang a little song,

"Why does mommy have to

be a wafer so long?"

Most cookies have an average IQ

of the brilliant there is no glut,

but a really smart cookie is

a real acadamia nut.

Hyenas have a favorite cookie

as you know if you use your noodle,

I shouldn't have to tell you,

their love is for snickerdoodle.

He went to snitch a cookie,

and someone said, "It's a trap!

Don't you see the warning sign,

the plate has a ginger snap."

When two cookies became enemies

at each other they began to mumble,

but it soon became an all out brawl

when one said, "Get ready to crumble!"

The child who snitched the cookie dough

very soon became morose,

he felt so ill, his mother said,

"You've had an overdoughse!"

A thief tried the rob the Keebler elves

but he wasn't so smart, you know.

When caught and asked why he did it,

he'd thought they had a lot of dough!

The gingerbread man went visiting

a friend who was kind and sweet

who asked, "How should I make your bed?"

"Just use a cookie sheet!"

The scientist served metric cookies

because he was no slacker,

the only kind he ever made

were of course, the gram cracker.

I told my shrink I have trust issues

'cause when chocolate chip I was cravin',

I was offer a cookie and took a big bite

and, eeeewww! it was oatmeal raisin!"

I hope you like my cookie poem,

for when our friend Diane does call

and ask us to put on our thinking caps,

sometimes I just let it "snowball."
