Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays. Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.
Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you. What better way to start the week than with a smile!
Ms. G and i sometimes end up at a shelter which cares for cats and dogs. Once while there, i needed to use the facilities, and it was occupied by a sweet little girl who'd been abandoned at a grocery store. She was a love bug who just wanted to be petted. It was okay, when your name is "mommy," you know you don't get to go potty by yourself anyway and it's no big deal.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week. While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is on a blog semi-break and her poetry is sorely missed, we hope she comes back soon. Charlotte/Mother Owl often participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too. Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!
This week the theme is Buzzards.
A funny word is "buzzard,"
it is used colloquially
to talk about the vultures which
near carrion you often see.
But true buzzards are raptors,
the scientists class them as hawk,
yes buzzards and vultures are different,
don't confuse them, or they may squawk!
*******
Two vultures over their carrion
did stop a moment to pray,
"Lord, thank you for the meal,
and the car which prepared it today!"

ReplyDeleteI love both your poems too.
Good poems. I never thought that buzzards might say Grace.
ReplyDeleteThank you Dearie for another stunning post of yours requiring such an effort!
ReplyDeleteTo me it's truly a delight to read it!
And thank you for hosting too, as well.
Have a wonderful day and new week ahead
XOXO Daniela at ~ My little old world ~ (Dany)
That is a good thing to do. Everyone need some good coudlings
ReplyDeleteAnd who could resist that sweet puppy face ever. I love the cartoon. I actually get sad when I see road kill, but I live out in the country and the buzzies do make good use of the handout. However, if I am in a place on the road where it is safe, and the poor victim is not messy, I move it off onto the side of the road. Safer for the big birds.
ReplyDeleteThat vulture funny is awesome! Sometimes we don't let Mom use the bathroom alone either. She says we are like little kids that way.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dog. Thanx Mimi.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Aww! what a sweetie how could anyone abandon abandon her :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a wooftastic Monday 👍
Every week is a good week to act Happy. Where's the fun in being grumpy? Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteI hate to hear about animals being abandoned. That's so sad and so irresponsible. Bad humans! The cartoon made me giggle. I'm happy all the time so I don't need a special day. :) Have a happitastic day!
I hate that folks just abandon their babies. So heartbreaking. They need to be cared for and loved their entire lives.
ReplyDeleteLove that Spark and it's ever so true.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥
People that dump their furbabies are lower than slugs. to bad it's agaist the law to kill them.
ReplyDeleteMy momma loves pitties. And Chows. She rescued a chow mix years ago before I was born. Found her abused and starving in office parking lot. Teddie puppied two days later on St Patrick's Day. She was afraid of men but she ended up loving daddy.
ReplyDeleteOh sweet doggie and great spark ~
ReplyDeleteHumans who abandon their animals should be 'strung up by the family jewels' or something similar ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
A ShutterBug Explores,

ReplyDeleteOh thanks for this. It seems to be with a reason that Buzzards made me think Lucky Luke's undertaker.
ReplyDeleteOh the luxury of being a mom to older kids. Solo potty time :D
