Many and varied are the things to count on this Thankful Day.

Easter Sunday at church was a blessing, and there was a very special moment at one point.  Two families were having children baptized, and one little darling was about 2 years old.  We'd just finished a beautiful hymn with a big finish, and as the last notes faded the tot yelled, "Hooray!" and clapped.  We were all charmed and delighted and cheered and clapped with her.  She's going to be one to watch.

Becca and i had also gotten flowers on our walk, a few wildflowers and some from her mama's garden (with permission) to put on the cross at church.  She and i both enjoy and are thankful for that yearly ritual.

When i got to the shelter Wednesday morning, i was greeted by a kitten asking to be petted!  She'd gotten out of her cage as one of the new volunteers didn't secure the complicated mechanism properly.  I was thankful she didn't run away from me and went back in easily.

I'm also thankful i noticed she had used the clean litter in the clean litter cart during the night before i started changing litter for the other cats!  I had to dump all the clean litter (it was low, thankfully, so not much wasted), clean it, and refill it.

#2 Son came by for mail and a chat, i'm always thankful to see him.

For the rest, rEcess!

Science experiments, gym time, food, and freedom to run.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  2. Your shelter kitty who used the clean litter reminds me of a feral black cat I kept for 2 months waiting for our shelter to have room. He was with me during a very bad weather Jan. and Feb. I would take him out in the 2 foot snow to potty. He did not like that a bit, so he ran back into the garage and used the bucket of sand and grit we kept for icy spots!
