Alliance (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy’s Poetry Day and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

I always think of my father at moments like this.

He was a master of tact, the perfect phrase, the way to get around people and defuse tense situations, coming up with good solutions.

One time, he'd been called by a friend distraught over a decision the council was probably going to make, asking for advice, help, anything.  He'd gone with the friend to see the council leader and discuss options and been told he could have fifteen minutes of the council leaders' time.

My father opened the meeting by saying, "Sir, this organization is here to serve you, we are willing to do anything you ask to assist the council," and the meeting had lasted almost two hours, what the council would need had been agreed to and the council decided differently than originally expected.

Now the council had sent me here to forge an alliance, and I just hoped all my father's training and mentoring would be enough.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

I'm out here having the time of my life,

with boredom and monotony my workday is rife.

Adventuring outdoors is how I seize the day,

when rafting my job stress just melts away!
