It’s a Celebration, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

Thankful Day seems to show up just in time every week, and this one is special.  It's the Tenth Anniversary of the Ten Things of Thankful Blog Hop!

Ten years ago, Lizzi came up with the idea for the Ten Things of Thankful, and i'm thankful she did.  It's a wonderful reminder to count our blessings.

I'm thankful for the others who have hosted over the years after Lizzi (whom i never had the pleasure of meeting online, i don't believe) bowed out.

I'm thankful for those who have participated both regularly and occasionally.  It's a joyful thing to be able to celebrate the good in other people's lives, too.  Blogging friends are a special blessing.

Carl's car is in the shop awaiting a part, i'm thankful i was able to take him to work this past Monday while i was there, and i will do the same this coming Monday.  His mother, Ms. V, is thankful, too, as she really doesn't like having to get up that early.

My appointments went like clockwork Tuesday, and i'm very thankful.  I arrived at 7:45 for an 8am appointment for a mammogram and DEXA scan, and they are so efficient i was done by 8:20.

I'm thankful the mammogram was normal this time, nothing to biopsy (big sigh of relief).  Dr. BowTie will discuss the DEXA results with me at my appointment in just over a week.

While not as bad as it could have been, the shelter on Wednesday gave me a run for the money as many of the cats, both adults and kittens, had really made some horrible messes.  I'm thankful i went to tend Ms. G's critters first and as Ms. G hadn't arrived home yet, i was able to stay at the shelter until all the work was done and get to her house at my leisure.

Yes, i'm thankful Ms. G is back now, as pet sitting before work wears me out after a while.

Because Ms. V had also emptied all the under-the-sink cabinets and cleared the bottoms of closets so the house could be bug sprayed, i'm thankful i was able to get to a couple of those places while cleaning the house and reorganize them when putting stuff back in.

When i got home Thursday, Sweetie informed me he'd lost his phone again.  He and the Big Boss went out to the farm, so it could have been in the Boss' vehicle, could have been dropped outside at the farm, could be in the farmhouse, could have been left at the store where they bought supplies, or could have been left at the restaurant where they ate lunch.

If it was lost at either of the last two locations, it is most certainly gone as no phone was turned in at either place.

It's not in the Boss' car.

That leaves looking at the farm itself, and the cleaning lady was supposed to go over there yesterday and look while she was cleaning, but she got sick and will go next week.  The carpenter is supposed to go by this weekend and work on the shelves, if he feels up to it and has promised to look if he goes.

The yard guy is busy and can't get there right now.

Thus it stands his phone is probably at a location about 70 miles from here, and the three people who live within one mile of the place, who have keys and could go over there and look, don't have time to do so or cannot do so.

I'm thankful we have a spare phone he can use, i was able to suspend service on the phone once we realized it really was where we couldn't get to it, and i'm thankful there is still the possibility we might get it back.  After all, the Big Boss will go back to the farm within the next two weeks, right?

Friday night at the shelter was quieter than usual, and all the cats which had made messes Wednesday had settled down some.  It made the work go faster and i'm thankful.
