Work, Water, and Wellness Calls, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

This week has been a bit short on sleep, although it's never short of things to list for Thankful Day.

First, i'm really very thankful i was not badly hurt when i tripped last Friday night at rEcess.  I have been sporting a shiner for over a week now.  The damage was all on the surface and it's clearing up.

Saturday was a long day at Grandma and Grandpa's.  I'm thankful Grandma wants me to spend more time just sitting and talking to her.

For a few months now, i've been trying to convince Becca that because she's an adult, she's big enough to not wake anyone else up if she gets up in the middle of the night.  My mantra has been adults, if they wake up in the night, use the restroom, get a sip of water, and go back to bed without waking anyone.

Her father, Mr. J, came up with the idea of adding the magic ingredient, a reward.  If she lets him sleep by taking care of herself at night, she gets a star on the calendar.  If she gets 3 stars in a row, she gets a Sprite drink.  As of last Sunday, I'm thankful to say she'd let her parents sleep every night for 8 straight nights!  Tomorrow i'll find out if she's continuing, the trend, i do hope so.

Ms. JAI, for lots of reasons, is not always in contact with her family.  Sometimes she goes a day or two without contact from anyone, which concerns me.  I'm thankful she lets me send her a text every night to check up on her.

She's supposed to answer, and that's the other thankful.  She has been answering, or answering when i call her the next day.  As long as i know she's okay.

Monday morning at Carl's with no water in the main house for laundry turned into a "we are so thankful for responsive plumbers" very quickly.  By that afternoon, when i was across the street from Carl's at Ms. S's house, she and i watched the plumber come and go and come back, and water is once again flowing at the house.

That was very important by Thursday, and i went to clean the rest of their house that day and i was most thankful for water and caught up on laundry with five loads.

Every once in a while, i place an order for things on Amazon i haven't been able to get locally.  I generally wait and get several things together in one shipment, and it generally works well.  This week, one item was missing from the package and i'm thankful a call resolved it, they shipped one out to me the next day.

This week was the start of our ladies' circle meetings for church again, and i'm thankful my Tuesday morning circle has a new member who will be riding with me and Ms. V.  I'm also thankful this year's book is Praying the Lord's Prayerby J.I. Packer.

Ms. G was preparing her new toy (the RV) for its christening.  I'm thankful we got a lot done, and neither of us had an avalanche of anything fall on us when getting stuff out of the shop.

I'm also thankful the temperatures are more seasonal now than they were a month ago, as working outside is not so difficult as it was then.

Thursday afternoon, i actually got a very short nap and i'm most thankful for that.

Ms. G headed out Thursday afternoon, and so i am thankful to be on Angel duty from Friday through Monday.  The extra funds are welcome, as Sweetie managed to ding up Slow-Moe and broke a headlight assembly.  I'm thankful it wasn't worse, and we were able to order the part.  Kevin and Lenny will install it, of course.

While i was at the shelter Friday night, two juvenile cats got adopted together, a brother and sister.  We're always thankful for good homes for the kitties, and this lady has adopted before and is a responsible pet owner.
