Not Your Standard Rings (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and a Sunday Selfie

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma and i finalized plans for Christmas dinner, even though we aren't sure who is coming.  There's always plenty, of course.

As for decor, they are at the age where they keep it simple.  There are two small artificial trees, about 2 1/2 feet tall each, with ornaments on them already, sitting out on the enclosed porch.  They will be carried into the living room, then put back out.  The less on their plates and mine, the better.

Boudreaux an' Clothile done be talkin' 'bout if'n it be time to buy dem de new artificial tree.

"How old be dis one?" Clothile done ax.

An' Boudreaux say, "Gimme a couple minute an' lemme count de rings, an' I'll tell you."

"You cain't tell how old be de artificial tree by de rings!  Dey ain't like de real tree!"

An; Boudreaux say, "Mais, oui, I can tell by countin' de rings o' tape on de outside de box!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.     \   

Christmas is busting out all over, and i've had little chance to document it this year.

Our local Trader Joe's doesn't necessarily have a gingerbread house contest like they do a pumpkin contest, but at least a couple of the employees did decorate houses and display them.

Because Obi Buddy attacks everything and turns it into a toy, Mr. BA and Ms. GA were looking for a different kind of tree, one the cat couldn't turn over.
