Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
Grandma got her Christmas gift from us early.
"Let me guess," she said, being funny. "Fruitcake!"
Close, i told her. Pumpkin Spice coffee from Trader Joe's.
She loves the stuff, we have to stock up while they have it.
Fruitcake? Well, she loved a specific kind and brand her own father used to get almost 70 years ago, but she's never been able to find it again or any other like it, so like many people, she's in the fruitcake haters club.
Boudreaux an' Thibodeaux done have dem de prank dat dey be playin' back an' fo'th fo' years. Someone done give Boudreaux de fruitcake many year ago, an' he done pass it on to Thibodeaux, who done sneak it back in Boudreaux house, who done got it back to Thibodeaux, an' dey jes' be doin' dis fo' de long time, ever' Christmas.
One day, Boudreaux done open de cabinet when Thibodeaux jes' done leave an' de fruitcake fall out, an' he said, "Dat Thibodeaux done gots me agin!"
An' Clothile done ax, "What fo' you two be passin' dat ol' t'ing 'round like dis fo' ennyway?"
An' Boudreaux say, "Mais! We be done hopin' we do it long 'nuff, it lose it's flavor!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.
I've taken a lot fewer photos of Christmas decorations this year. Maybe i'll get a few this week, and we can bid the season adieu next Sunday.

This week, Tripod SissyCat wants to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.
She wanted to post before i took her off the bed to make it, then couldn't decide which was her best side.
Give me a minute. |
I wasn't ready! |
Be quiet, Link! |
Not quite. |
I'm not grumpy, I'm just tired of posing, so this will do! |
