Mitigation (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and Sunday Selfie

 ***********************************

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Once again, Grandma and i were talking about forgetfulness and this led to a discussion about funerals, which reminded me of this gem.

Boudreaux an' Gaston be de bes' o' frien's an' de worse o' enemies, since Gaston done be de car mechanic, so dey's allus arguin' over what be wrong wit' Boudreaux's car an' how much to done fix it.

One day, Boudreaux done hear him Gaston say, "When I die, I want me some o' dem Jewish people dat be de professional what-you-call-em, wailers!  Dat be it, dey wail an' cry an' carry on at de funeral.  I wants me some o' dem at my funeral."

An' Boudreaux say, "Mais, do dat be to  make up fo' de sound o' all dem people goin' be dancin' and singin' an' celebratin'?"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.

Mr. BA's garden was busy, so i stopped to see if i could get anyone to pose.

Ms. Bee says, "Yes, I was upside down, and I liked it that way!"

Well, there was a bee here just a moment ago.

Ah, there he is!

These were just some pretty flowers i snapped at a store.

These yellow butterflies wouldn't land for anything, but somehow in snapping photos i happened to get two of them flying past!

This week, Lulu wants to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop.

Grandma and Grandpa got some sad news about Lulu this week.  She went for her regular vet visit and they found a mass on her liver, they are certain it is cancer, mostly because of size, shape, and her current liver values.

The vet told Grandma and Grandpa they could do surgical biopsies and start a treatment protocol, and their first question was, "Will she be in any pain?"

The vet admitted she would be in significant pain from biopsies and even more so if they had to do surgeries to remove the mass, and the treatments would make her feel awful.

"How much time would this get her?" was their second question.

The answer was, no guarantees, but maybe 6 months or so.

Their answer was simple.  They are not going to have her in pain, sick and miserable just to give her a few more months.  As long as she is eating, running across the house to bark every time the doorbell rings, begging for treats and belly rubs, and enjoying chasing any lizards, birds and squirrels which dare get in the back yard, well and good.  The moment she tells them it's not fun any more, they will sadly say good-bye, but they will not let her suffer.

These are her, "I'm feeling okay for now," selfies.

  1. So sad to hear about Lulu. I wouldn't put here through the pain of surgeries either. That orange butterfly is almost invisible in the first three photos, the bee is beautiful.

  12. I can NEVER get enough Cajun jokes. I loved them all the time I was there visiting and I loved what Cajuns I got to meet. I could listen to them sing and play their instruments all day and night too. And Lulu...I am with Grandma and Grandpa. My girl Katie will never be made to suffer through treatments for a small amount of time. I will try always to keep my personal love and selfishness out of it. Also, I wanted to let you know that Katie Isabella requires comment moderation after 48 hours. Your comment and others come to me and I approve them quickly. So, I see them and I am grateful. They always are approved and shown in comments. XX
