They have a restricted key like millionaires put on their houses, which means the key cannot be copied unless you move Heaven and Earth to get special permission from the company that authorized and registered it, or even to get the locks repaired.
They also have hidden cameras, the kind only the most highly sophisticated of burglars will even know about, much less be able to avoid and or foil somehow.
She arrived at the house yesterday to find someone had obviously tried to break in, and as is being done in that area now, upon being stymied in the attempt, used glue in all the locks so she was unable to get a key in.
Ms. G was, as always, booked up to the wazoo and expecting us to get a lot done, in between her other appointments, and her day went sideways with the call from the friend, as Ms. G is one of the few people authorized to have a spare key for the house and was the one who told them how to make arrangements to have such a system put in to begin.
Ms. G, breathing fire at her day being once again sidetracked by something that should never have happened, left out of the house immediately to help her file a police report which will be the first step to getting authorization for the company which installed the locks to come out and fix the mess, and after that Ms. G had a doctor appointment, and so of course it meant our day working together was cut way short.
The next step is going to be reviewing the film to see who did this, and then with Ms. G being this peeved about the whole thing, she's going to insist on them pursuing this to the full extent of the law, and someone is going to need bail money to post bond.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
I always joke my kids monkey around
but the damage here is quite profound,
I might end with no clothes for vacation
and this isn't a nudist location!

That's a LOT of security and how awful of wannabe burglars to put glue in the locks. I hope they are caught and suitably punished.
ReplyDeleteSmiling at your poem and hoping you do hold up to the very busy times coming up. You matter.
ReplyDeleteEchoing River about the thieves.
Good fences aren't enough to keep people from trying to break in are they.
ReplyDeletePeople can be so awful, first of all trying to break in and then putting glue in all the locks. The person(s) who did that are obviously unhappy people who want to ruin the lives of others so sad.
ReplyDeleteI am not happy that such anti theft measures are even necessary, and do kind of understand how they lead to frustration and bashing and ruining of things instead.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is a riot, and your verse for once tame in comparison ... but still so well written, only the photo outshines it.
Crazy busy weeks ahead, I wish you strength and endurance.
What a story that was. I hope they catch the ones who messed up the locks. Funny poem and and excellent thankful. bhhhh
ReplyDeletehard work made more difficult...
ReplyDeleteGoodness me! Glue in the locks?
ReplyDeleteOver here people in the suburbs go for cheap and nasty pine fencing that goes grey and ugly with age. I don't even think they notice the change when it happens.
ReplyDeleteOne house in our road put up a gorgeous stone and iron fence though and it makes the whole house look fabulous.
