This Thankful Day, i am reminded of a local tire place, now long closed, where the owner used to advertise by saying, "Tires, they ain't pretty, but you gotta have em!"
Indeed, we were most thankful when #2 Son noticed the passenger rear tire on Slow-Moe the Pontiac was flat and fixed it. Tire patch kits and a person who can use them saves you a lot of money.
Just as my Sweetie and i were about to leave Grandma and Grandpa's house Saturday afternoon, the skies opened up and buckets of rain came down, like it wasn't going to quit any time soon. We're thankful for umbrellas and for the fact once we drove just one mile away, there was no rain, so we didn't have to drive home in a deluge.
Ms. D's daughter was in town, and i was thankful to be able to take our little Annie for our usual Sunday evening visit and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
Monday morning i realized it was very important for me to talk to Ms. V, but she gets up so late i'm usually gone or about to leave by the time she is ready for the day. I was thankful to hit on the idea of doing 3 hours in Carl's apartment, then going across the street to Ms. S, then going back to talk to Ms. V and do my remaining time in the apartment.
The timing worked like a charm, i'm thankful to say, and Ms. V has agreed i should be done by the end of this month.
I'm thankful there's another job on the horizon for Monday mornings, but the details aren't worked out yet and i'll know for sure later.
Tuesday we were waiting and wondering whether storms would come our way. Meanwhile, we did have dense cloud cover so Annie and i were able to take a morning walk without passing out from heat and sunstroke.
Ms. G was in her usual mode, insisting i had to come to her house for specific instructions before going to see Ms. Fiona to help her with her clothes sorting. Once i got out to Ms. Fiona, we had to change our plans totally as she was heading for the nurse's station to show them a sore she had which was starting to get infected. I'm thankful i was at least able to change out her door wreath from a springtime bumble bee to a more summery one with ladybugs and patriotic colors, and i was able to make sure she did stop at the nurse's station and tell them as she's been more forgetful lately.
Once back at Ms. G's, i was thankful to help her with the kitchen sink which needed to be returned (wrong size), very bulky to carry even though we were doing it together.
The vacuuming got done as well, for which Mr. Gray is not thankful (he's semi-feral and decamps to outdoors) but Ms. G is, as it gets up all the Ms. Sassy Floofypants hair.
My Sweetie is thankful Ms. G decided she could not use two metal ammunition bins she'd managed to acquire from heaven knows where, as he is now making good use of them as sturdy, protective holders for vintage vacuum tubes for his amplifiers.
Ms. V, bless her, has taken getting out of her bed early in the morning and sleeping in Carl's apartment on Thursdays so i can get the house done more quickly without having to wait until she gets up to get to all the laundry. I was very thankful as it meant i was done with my six hours of work there in, guess what! six hours! When i have to wait for access to various rooms, it can take 7-8.
Thursday afternoon, we cleaned Kevin and Lenny's shop and i'm thankful it's only once a month since the only time i can get to it is after the marathon at Ms. V's.
Our little Annie gave me a run for the money Friday. The little wiggle squirm flopped around like a fish for almost an hour before finally going down for her nap, then the little minx only slept 45 minutes! We're thankful she got that 45 minutes.

Thankfully for Daughter-in-Law, it shouldn't be too much longer before little Ben arrives. She's getting most uncomfortable at this stage.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Clark and his co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
