What a Square.
"Mom! It's my favorite day of the year! Pi Day! We have got to make a pie."
For some kids, the best day is Christmas. For others, a birthday, or Hallowe'en, or Easter. Around here, even Mardi Gras can make the cut.
Little Girl has chosen Pi Day, and was set on making a pie. After all, it is her favorite day.
She was also set on coconut cream. So i found an easy recipe, meaning one that doesn't take all day and have ingredients i have to go get.
And we have pie on Pi Day.
Which reminds me of a terrible joke.
Young Billy Bob was the first from his family to ever go to college, and when he came home after his first semester, the family were very excited. They gathered for a big family dinner and began asking him about what he had learned while he was away.
He had taken several subjects, and as facts swirled around in his head, bits of history or literary quotes or phrases of the foreign language he had studied, he tried to grab one so he could show them that he had, indeed, learned something away at that fancy college.
"Pi r²" he blurted out, and everyone became silent.
Was he serious, they all thought, and Grandpa finally broke the silence with, "I can't believe it. All this money the family is putting into your education, and you come back with that? Boy, don't you know pie are round!"
Do any of you have a very favorite holiday or special day of the year? And are you having pie today in honor of Pi Day? And do you want to strangle me for repeating that joke?

Had forgotten about that joke. I remember someone adding "Yeah, cornbread are square!" Anyway, the time BEFORE Christmas is probably my favorite, I love to look at the lights. But the best holiday for me is probably Halloween, I can dress like a lunatic, uh, put a costume on, and no one notices, uh, minds... Heh. Well, seeing Dad today, surgery went well, hopefully will have more on my blog tomorrow. Yay!
