It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
There is proof, my friends, that’s it’s not always the female of the species that is gabby.
This Sunday, two church friends asked Sweetie if he could join them for dinner on Thursday. He told them he didn’t see why not, but that he would check the calendar and ask me to make sure.
He asked me, and i said one word, the name of his old college friend. “Oh, yeah!” he said. He’d forgotten that his friend will be in town and he’s already going to visit with that friend on Thursday.
At prayer group that evening, i told one of the two who had invited him, Husband can’t make it Thursday, he forget he has promised to spend time with a friend who will be in town. The response was, Okay.
That was probably less than 30 seconds.
Sweetie called the other friend and spent almost 10 minutes explaining who the out-of-town friend was, where he lives, what he does for a living, how he has written a book, and so on, before getting to the point that he was busy on Thursday. It was almost painful to listen to, i kept wanting him to get to the point!
Dr. D decided to tackle the freezer yesterday. We pulled up a big bucket, lined it with a bag, and went after it. She kept pulling things out of the freezer and handing them to me and saying, “What is that?”
Finally, after trying several times to figure out what the UFOs (unidentified frozen objects) were, i simply replied, it’s a mess! and dropped it into the bucket for disposal.
Two nice sized bags were disposed from the freezer and fridge, and both are still full. How does that happen?
Last Thursday the garage called and told her the van is repaired, she could come get it at her convenience. Since she cannot drive two vehicles at the same time, she told them she’d be there on Monday when she could get a ride up there to retrieve it.
On the way to bring more stuff to the office, we stopped at the garage to let her get the van. She went in and came back out and said, “They decided it wasn’t ready, they wanted to change the spark plugs!”
In some serious news, Daughter-in-Law Becky’s father went to the hospital last night, he seems to have some intestinal trouble. Prayers and good wishes for a quick recovery would be appreciated.
Have a great day, everyone!

I'm terrible at clearing out my freezer. Always forget to defrost too and then we get big chunks of ice that freeze the drawers shut! Here's to a quick recovery for Becky's father.
ReplyDeleteI find that every time I clean and throw out, or put away in the rigth place a lot of stuff. The place I organize ends up being as full, or more, than when I began. It is one of the mysteries of time-space continuum.
ReplyDeletePrayers for Becky's father on their way.
I cannot remember throwing out food from a freezer. Once in a while a package or two, but I am pretty good at moving that stuff through. The refrigerator is another story with leftovers frequently not getting eaten. So sorry for your DIL's dad. Hoping for a very quick and painless recovery.
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteWe do keep something in the freezer quite awhile but never so long that it doesn't get used. Correction, I have gotten crusty bread that never gets eaten and that just won't hold up to years of freezer burn. That goes in the trash pronto. Oh wait, I do recall us doing the same thing with ice cream once and that was the most painful throw away ever! We tend to buy ice cream when it's at a good sale price and there are times when we don't plow through it like usual. That was one of those times resulting in the product expiring and collecting too many ice crystals. Yuck-o! I always store left-overs in the freezer but I label the containers so I'll know what is what. I used to not do that and it drove me insane. Happy Tuesday! ;)
A lot of good food gets wasted as it gets shoved to the back of our freezer. We are learning to keep track of what is in there and to consume it before it is forgotten.
ReplyDeleteWe're pretty good at keeping the food from piling up in the freezer these days!
ReplyDeleteYour post is filled with light hearted delight at the extraordinary in the 'ordinary.' ~ You are a treasure ^_^
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
I too used to throw away long expired food. Now I no longer buy more than I need. It is only during festive times, I will buy extra and then will try hard to clear the stock as soon as possbile.
ReplyDeleteYour friend is a hoarder and then some. Wow. I can't imagine having that much stuff in a freezer. I'm completely lost with the spark plugs comment. Goodness.
ReplyDeleteSending good thoughts and prayers for your daughter in laws father. Hope it's something simple.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug. ♥
I will pray for your daughter in laws father tonight with rest of my prays that I say every night to God. My Lord has allowed to enjoy each day after my stroke when people thought I was a goner. Someday he'll want me but for now he's allowed me to stick around. See ya Mimi.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
I think Dr. D needs a visit from Marie Kondo. I will pray for your DIL's father.
ReplyDeleteThere's not a single thing in my freezer that I can't read a label and date on.
