Brothers (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Grandpa's Marbles (Poetry Monday)

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Link loves his brother Dansig:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She was unable to post for a while, so participants Delores and Jenny took turns providing a theme each week.  Now that Diane is back, they are all taking turns.  This week's theme is Marbles.

Grandpa has all his marbles,
He keeps them in a jar,
Right there on his doctor desk
So he always knows where they are!

He's kept them there for as long as
Anybody knows,
I always wanted to learn how
The game of marbles goes.

He never let us touch them,
Though i thought it would be fun,
He said he didn't want them going,
Wanted to keep every one.

So Grandpa still has his marbles
Right there in the jar,
And his brain at his age still works just great,
He knows where his marbles are!

  1. So the key to aging successfully, not losing your marbles, is to keep your marbles in a jar? I should be okay then, I have several dozen in a crystal decanter. Somewhere.....

  2. Definitely an aww moment. Love your poem. My marbles have escaped. I am pretty certain that they have been knocked under a piece of furniture by the cat.

  3. After the past few days, I could use a "Motorist Consideration Monday"
Hopefully, I don't have to rename it, "Get Your Manhood Off The Road Day" (I used Little Girl's term instead of my own, just for you!)

  4. Cute kittens. Years ago, Mom says she had some kitties that were super close and would always hang out together. Our two now don't do anything together.

  5. Mimi,

Too late, I lost my marbles a long time ago. I wish I had gotten the memo to keep my marbles in a jar. :) It's hard to imagine little Macaulay Culkin is now 39. I loved those 'Home Alone' movies! It won't be long before Christmas is here again. Have a good week, my friend.

  6. If I only knew where all of my marbles were. I chose to celebrate National Dog Day on my blog, but I think it would be a wonderful idea to celebrate National Be Kind to Humankind day by purchasing a stranger a Banana Split! Have a blessed week.
