Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays. Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.
Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you. What better way to start the week than with a smile!
This is one Bigger Girl would love. Someone made a fairy house decoration out of what's left of a tree in the yard, and i thought it was awww worthy.

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. She and Jenny take turns providing a theme each week. This week's theme is A Funny Joke.
Diane has really done it this time,
Making us be funny in rhyme.
(Although i guess if you want to,
An unrhymed funny poem would do.)
Sometimes inadvertent jokes
Are made by not always funny folks,
My Sweetie husband will sometimes say
Something that will make my day.
The other day, he had a pain,
Of his ankle bone he did complain,
He thought it might arthritis be,
And then he turned and said to me,
With great concern and quite a heavy sigh,
"Is it normal for one as young as I
To actually arthritis get?"
And i have not answered yet,
Yes, i held my tongue, for -- saint's alive! --
The man's already sixty-five.
He must think he is still a youth,
And he works very hard in truth,
Can still work tractors and pitch hay,
Dig for hours on a very hot day,
But i'm not going to say a word
To his statement a bit absurd,
He's kind and loving and me he does charm,
So if he thinks he's a kid, then what's the harm?

ReplyDeleteAnd I love that your husband is still young at heart.
I wanted to say almost exactly the same as Elephant's Child. I just love tht tree fairy house -- could the creator of this come and visit my garden, pretty please?
ReplyDeleteAnd to be young inside like your hubby is an admirable trait. I hope he just sprained something and will be his youthful self in a week or so. The theme this time was reaaly tough. You strove manfully.
I love the fairy house made from the old tree and may just copy the idea. My daughter has a similar tree stump in her yard. I remember feeling young still at 65, a mere two years later and I still have young days, but not as many.
ReplyDeleteCattle and ear ache sufferers, huh...?
ReplyDeleteCute lil house.
What a nice idea it looks good so a big aww from me
ReplyDeleteSo if he thinks he's a kid, then what's the harm? that summed it up well heheh!
Have an achelesstastic Monday :-)
That is a cool idea for a tree stump that would otherwise be either nothing or a bit ugly.
ReplyDeleteThat's a cool tree, elves could bake cookies in there!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea, my neighbor has an old tree stump like that, I'll let her know! I love that spark!
ReplyDeleteI like the fairy tree house too! Great poem!
ReplyDeleteThat is a cute tree. Excellent spark. And I love the poem. Tell your hubby 65 seems to be the age. My hubby turned 65 in January and both his knees started giving him grief.
ReplyDeleteI would love that piece in my yard. That's most clever. Very Awww worthy.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem. It made me chuckle. Bless his heart.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, my friend. ♥
That fairy house is definitely awww-worthy - what a sweet idea.
ReplyDeleteI love your poem, Mimi - my husband is young at heart, too, and is having a hard time reconciling that to the aches and pains he's begun to have on a regular basis.
OMG I LOVE that fairy house! I would love to live in it :)
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteThat's a neat idea with the old tree. I've seen smaller versions done this in pictures and thought how cool it would be to see something like this in passing.
Oh that 'fairy house' is darling ~ definitely an Awwwww!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
My grandkids would LOVE that fairy house! and so would their gramma! Hahaha! You're really only as old as you *ouch* feel...
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your story, and how I wish that Delores could see it.
