You Had To Ask (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day, and Brian's Thankful Thursday

***********************************

"What's Dad putting on the grill tonight?" always hungry boy asks as he comes tromping in.

"Why don't you go ask him?" little sister says.

"No," Mom says, a bit sharply, "you don't want to do that!"

"What can it hurt to ask?" son wants to know, as Mom answers, "You'll find out the hard way if you do."

Son heads out anyway, curiosity getting the better of him, and from out on the back porch, "Hey, Dad, what's on the grill tonight?"

From the barbecue, strains of what only the kindest of people would call singing, "Hot dogs, Armour hot dogs!"

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Armour.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

Trees of frost and roof of snow

Bundle up, there's no place to go

Build a fire to warm and cheer,

'Cause you're going to stay right here!

  5. Nice little poem, although I think I would need a huge fire to keep me warm with that much snow around. Brrr.
I tried grilled hot dogs once and don't like them. We boil them here in Australia, then drain them off and put them in buns with sauce or mustard or both.
