Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
One thing about Grandma and Grandpa's house that i do not like much is that it's very dark. The windows are all covered in heavy draperies, the artificial lighting is harsh and garish and Grandpa goes around turning lights off all the time, even if you just leave the room for a moment to go to the facilities. It can be a little depressing.
Clothile done be readin' in de paper, an' she say, "Dis here say dat Natural Light can improve you mood an' make you feel more cheerful."
An' Boudreaux say, "Mais! Budweiser or de Coors be done goin' do de same, any beer do dat, an' dey taste better'n a light beer any day..."
An' Clothile say, "Non! Dey don' mean light beer, dey mean de Natural Light from de sun!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.
Bits and bobs, as always; what i could capture as i ran through the week. All the sunrise/sunset photos were supposed to end up at the end, but Blogger usually has placement ideas of its own and there's no arguing with it.
That's a squirrel nest up there. |

A truly lovely selection. I hear you on blogger's placement decisions too.
ReplyDeleteMy father also went round turning off lights. Often without checking to see if there was anyone in the room.
Look after yourself dear friend. You have been stretched thin again.
The paintings are nice, but I like the real flowers better. Could Grandpa be persuaded to open the heavy drapes or maybe get lighter weight ones to let in more natural light? Then he wouldn't need to be switching off lamps. Old people do get set in their ways though.
ReplyDeleteI like the flowers. And I see you managed to include a wooden fence. Thanx Mimi.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
I guess Boudreaux wants a beer and it doesn't matter what the name of the beer is. I love Boudreaux .
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful Sunday Mimi.

Another fine selection of photos. I was surprised to see the photo labelled as a squirrel's nest - can you believe I never knew they build nests? I thought they always chose a tree. So now I've been down the internet rabbit hole (or, apparently, squirrel hole!) reading about all the kinds of nests squirrels build! We have two squirrels (at least) living somewhere near us. I can tell there are two because one has only half a tail, oh dear. But it does help me keep track :) Take care of yourself, Mimi. You are doing so much all the time.
ReplyDeleteWe don't like it when the place is too dark either. Those were terrific photos!
ReplyDeleteThe paintings are lovely. Someone has a fine hand. As a migrainer, I understand the dark rooms. The photos were awesome.
ReplyDeleteEverything here is beautiful. Thank you so very much or always sharing humor, fun, love and the best of everything. Those Cajuns, aw......Yes natural light is so good for us. I open all the curtains every morning. Terrific photos! HUGS & LOVE to you today and always
ReplyDeleteI love natural light! Gotta love Cajun jokes....and old people jokes! Love your selection of photos. I look forward to the flowers blooming again soon.
ReplyDeleteThe cajun humor made me smile. I much prefer the natural light dat the sun brings then find it in a bottle of beer. Yuck! Everything is blooming in your neck of the woods, I see. I had an appointment yesterday, so it was nice to see what nature was up to and everything is just busting open. The dogwoods have opened and on display, simply beautiful!
