Feline Friday was started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.

Mama and babies are rather shy and spend a good bit of time in their "den."

Mama is only about 6 months, barely larger than her 8-week-old kittens!

It's time for the Monthly Poetry Group, hosted by Karen at Baking in a Tornado.  Participants write a poem about a topic one of us chose.  This month, yours truly chose Weather.  Be sure to go check out all the poems.

It can be a team effort,

driving in a flooding rain,

'cause sometimes you can't pull over

and it really is a pain.

Yesterday on our way home

from cleaning Ms. SE's house,

the sky cut loose in buckets

any quick trip hopes to douse.

The rain thick and obscuring,

the streets filling up so fast,

it often leaves you wondering

just how long this can last.

With the wiper blades a-going

as quick as they could be,

we really had a hard time

the road at all to see.

Sweetie concentrated

on staying in his lane

while i watched out to tell him

when to stay and when to change.

'Cause when our streets are flooding

you scuttle to the side

that has less standing water,

or else, oh, woe betide!

So far no one had gotten stuck

and all cautiously crept along

as we got around the water

where water does not belong.

Such stormy monsoon weather

and driving in't makes my hair gray,

that's why with the little ones i sing,

Oh, rain, rain, go away!
