Now is Good, a Six Sentence Cafe and Bistro Story

Nanan was doing what she loved to do best when she wasn't busy cooking or cleaning, meaning she was sitting and had her nose buried in a book.

The sudden feel of something cool and damp up against the hand that was dangling in her lap brought a smile.  Turning the book over and placing it face down on the table before her, she gazed over into the beautiful face of a dog, a dog that had one of those big, wide doggie smiles and a hopeful wiggle in his back end.

"You're right, Hunga!" Mimi said, "it is time," and she grabbed the bookmark from between the final two pages of the book where she kept it while reading and used it to mark her place.

"Now let's get your lead," she said as the dog's hopeful back-end wiggle turned into a full-blown entire back-end wagging, making her giggle at how he could even stand up moving so hard from side to side like that.

She didn't mind the interruption for a nice walk, as she knew that with pets, as with children, there's no time like the present as well as no time but the present.

  6. A nanan's love is boundless and Hunga knows it.
Your description in sentence 5 made me smile in recognition. Spot on - when they get to wagging that hard they darn near spin themselves 360, lol.
    Perfect Six, Mimi.
