Your Count is Off (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma is feeling better, and we know it because she is teasing Grandpa more and more.  He just grins in response like he's always done.  They're quite a pair.

Tee Boudreaux done be talkin' to Grand-père Boudreaux an' ax, "Grand-père, how long you an' Grand-mère be marry?"

An' Grand-père say, "We done been marry more'n fo'ty year."

Tee say, "Wow, dat be long.  Did you done allus get along so well?  You an' Grand-mère gets along better'n Père an' Mère."

Den Grand-père say, "We din' allus get along perfec'.  Usta be I'd tease Grand-mère, an' she din't allus like it."

"How you done tease her?" Tee ax.

An' Grand-père say, "After she done had her las' chile, I usta call her, 'Mère 'o six,' an' she din't like it much.  Den I decide I gots to stop."

"What made you decide dat?" Tee want know.

"One say," Grand-père say, "we be settin' at de table wit' all de kids fo' de Sunday dinner, an' I say, 'Mère o' six, can you pass de gravy?' an' she say, 'Mais oui, Père o' t'ree!'"
