Finding The Silver Lining, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

It has been a most "interesting" week, and now that it's Thankful Day, it's time to find those silver linings.

Last week ended with #1 Son's car needing a part that wouldn't be in until this Friday (yesterday), so he took Lunceford the Land Yacht (Sweetie's car).  We were thankful to be able to let him use it.

Sweetie got a ride to church Sunday morning from Brother-in-Law (thankfully), who dropped him off and then went to attend his own church.  Afterward, we'd ride home together, and meanwhile, i went to see Becca.

After getting her up, fed, dressed, and Mr. Cal walked, Becca and i were playing a game when Ms. A said she wasn't feeling well enough to attend church (headache).  If i wanted, she said i could take Becca to church and bring her home after.

This posed a problem, as i hadn't emptied my car of all my cleaning equipment and already had a passenger for the return journey.

Becca, we were thankful to find, was good with staying home and getting a visit from Cousin C instead of coming to church.  If there's no Sunday school, she's not very interested in attending.

When i went to work Monday morning, Ms. V gave me a small drawstring bag with a very nice spoon and spatula set in it.  She'd been given two of them as a promotional giveaway and did not want both.  Not only am i thankful to have them, Sweetie was lamenting to me about an hour after i got home that he needed a bag of some kind for one of his amplifier cords.  He was surprised and very thankful when i handed him the bag i'd just brought home.

Tuesday was the day my Amazon Prime Day box came in (bluetooth headphones that i could afford and a new feather duster for work), and i was very thankful.

Tuesday was the day #1 Son dropped Lunceford off and went to NOLA in GusGus, where my poor little Ford promptly broke down.

We're thankful he wasn't on the freeway when it happened.

We're thankful Grandma was willing to let him use her car to come home, and i was permitted limited use of it for work during the week.

The fact is, GusGus die Fledermaus is down for the count until Ford makes the part she needs available.  Meanwhile we have to come up with alternate transportation, as #1 Son's car part did not come in and he's going to need Lunceford until it does.

We're thankful one of the mechanics at Kevin and Lenny's has a car for sale, one he's cared for himself.

Thankfully, his family wasn't replacing it because it wasn't running well, but because it had gotten too small for his wife to put all the kids and gear in it.  (They moved up from a four-door sedan to an SUV.)

We won't have to borrow too much to get it, as we have a bit saved, and we're thankful for that, too.

We're thankful that in this pinch, the same friend who loaned us a truck to use for our vacation has come through in the clutch and loaned us the truck for this weekend, with the plan being for us to buy the car on Monday and return the truck that evening.

Mr. BA and Ms. GA have gone on a weekend trip, so i'm cat- and bird-sitting (they have decided feeding birds is great fun), so i'm earning some extra that i can put toward paying the tax, title, and everything else that goes along with acquiring a car.

My biggest thankful is this isn't a surprise to the Lord, and it's all going to work out, and just for today, we have the transportation we need (and i can run by the dealer while i'm in NOLA and get the rest of my stuff out of GusGus).

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
