"Ugh!" she said, walking in the door to find a huge hairball right in the entryway.
She set her "doggie bag" with a part of a leftover steak and some buttered asparagus down on the low entry table that always held keys and change and plenty of this and that. It was important to get that spot up as quickly as she could, before her somewhat clumsy roommate came in; as much as she liked and loved her friend, the young woman never failed to miss stepping on a spot that should not be stepped on.
While getting a towel and a wet rag, she heard the door open and she yelled, "Beth, don't move until I get in there and get that mess cleaned!"
Running back to the entryway, she saw Beth, frozen on the doorstep with an odd look on her face, and at first heard rather than saw the cat, which was purring loud enough to beat the band.
Shaking her head as she now had two messes to clean, she watched as the very happy hairball hurler tore into steak and buttered asparagus.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!
Some of the iron fences/gates here are painted white, instead of being left the traditional black.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
Someday I am gonna be
a big tri - atha - lete,
but just for now I'm still
learning to use my feet.
My balance isn't perfect
as I head out on my strider*,
but someday I'll be famous,
a really awesome rider.
Until then I'll be racing
with other kids like me,
but the big races are calling,
and someday there I'll be!
*These small bicycles with no pedals are called striders.

ReplyDeleteIf you put a lot of metal gates side by side are they still gates or do they become a fence?

We were planning on the kids cooking some yummy smash burgers and the back door would not open. We have a new lock set so that will be tonight's project. Love the photos and poetry and story too. You are amazing for all you have to do! Enjoy the weekend.
