It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
The calendar has changed, Carl has not.
He took yesterday off. Why, i do not know since he gets weekends anyway, but i from what i could gather from him he felt since the holiday was on a day he already had off, he needed another day off to compensate. Rather like the post office and banks, i guess.
When i arrived, he heard me come in and met me at the door of his apartment room in his boxers and t-shirt with more than half of his bedding in hand to move to his recliner chair.
Remember, i cautioned him, anything you don't hand me now is not going to get washed because you are using it.
He allowed me to get him a clean sheet, but by the time i got to trying to change the pillowcase, he had settled in the recliner with an eye mask on and a smile of satisfaction on his face. No way was i disturbing him, especially as i knew he'd be running back and forth to his room as i tried to clean later in the morning. Leave well enough alone for now, right?
When i opened the door to his room, the first and most obvious question when i could get the door all the way open was, why in the world is his bathmat behind the door?
Ersatz doorstop. |
Another mystery for the ages, i cleaned it later when i cleaned the tub.
The family had company over the weekend again (a late Christmas celebration with family that had other obligations the week before) and the laundry room showed it. Carl had fallen behind in his laundry.
First view of part of the laundry pile-up. |
Another reason he has so much trouble with clothing and laundry is his idea of putting laundry away doesn't quite match anyone's ideal.
Carl's idea of putting his boxers away, and in the wrong drawer. |
Through the morning he did as i knew he would, wandering into his room for various purposes (my teeth are fuzzy -- I need my drink -- pass the pain relief ream, my shoulder hurts, etc.).
Each time he returned, like a bird to the nest, to his recliner next to his father's, where they both snoozed away. This family loves their shut-eye.
In honor of Carl and his ability to nap indefinitely and his love of slumber, a few funnies.
\
A blessed and beautiful Tuesday to you all, and Happy New Year!

ReplyDeleteI feel like I never get enough sleep so the cartoons were cute. I'm envious of someone that can lay down and close their eyes and Nod off.
ReplyDeleteI guess we now know where Carl gets his love of sleep. The cartoons are good too. Mom would love to nap all day but she has too many things she would like to do and they trump sleeping because she sleeps at night. You are amazing to be able to deal with Carl.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, one look at the laundry room will make me faint. Lol! Looking at all the funnies about going to bed makes my eyes wanting to shut and snooze.
ReplyDeleteOh the work you have when you go to Carl's house. I'm exhausted just reading about him. A whirlwind. Most entertaining.
ReplyDeleteLoved all the funnies. Hubby loves to sleep in. Me not so much.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug, my friend. ♥
New Year, same old Carl, that made me laugh. Stuff for stories for years to come!
ReplyDeleteEvery Tuesday I can't wait about Carl. He's amazing. My wife usually gets a little upset about Carl and she wonders why someone doesn't try to wake him up That's just the way she is. Thank God our daughter is a little bit better though she can be a pain in the butt.

Carl would fit in well over here, my grandfather was a champion napper, and now my youngest son is as well.
ReplyDeleteCarl sure knows how to make sure you have lots to do. Those were fun funnies too.
ReplyDeleteVery true about childhood punishments becoming goals. I hate leaving the house now. :)
ReplyDeleteCarl is exhaustive, thank goodness he has you who are so patient. I'm a big fan of naps too and get one every afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI am in awe of just how much clutter one human can generate in only one week! And there you are each week, patiently sorting it out!
ReplyDeleteLove the funnies! Now I need a nap!
