Carousel of Regress (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day and Brian's Thankful Thursday

Walt Disney touted his Carousel of Progress in the World of Tomorrow at Disneyland, where they sing about "a great big, beautiful tomorrow, shining at the end of every day."

Progress is great and all, but then again, sometimes it's not.

Blogger keeps "improving," and it's not an improvement, not a progress, but a Carousel of Regress.

The latest is going to be maddening to me -- i used to be able to upload a dozen or more pictures at a time from my phone (or wherever) into a post.

As of yesterday, when i finally reset my password and got in on a different browser since it won't let me upload at all from Duck Duck Go, i was only allowed to put in one picture at a time.

Days like today, with only a couple of pictures needed, shouldn't be too bad, but on my picture heavy days like Sunday Selections or Random and Happy Tuesday, well, i don't think is very progressive and i'm not looking forward to how much longer it's going to take me.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:    

She wanted to go to the prom,

the invitation accepted already,

of course, it was from her boyfriend,

for they were going steady.

Now came the big question,

what was she to wear?

Strapless dresses were the new rage,

she wanted to, but did she dare?

The family sat in conclave

on this matter of such import,

they were a church family, after all,

should she such an outfit sport?

The discussion went 'round the table,

it seemed to get nowhere,

'til older brother put in his say

and settled it then and there.

He simply said, "Now listen,

This matter's not so tough,

Just put the doggone dress on her,

if it stays up, she's old enough!"

(Based on a true story.  Art Linkletter's eldest daughter wanted to wear one of the new strapless dresses to the senior prom, and they really did have a family discussion which ended with older brother's statement clinching the matter.)
