Not being always flush with cash, they'd decided to elope.
Her sisters raised a hew and cry and insisted it had to be more than that, so they opted for a small wedding on the property of some family members, with the rest of the family and friends watching on a private Youtube Live channel.
A dozen or so gathered, plus the bride and groom and the ecumenical preacher, under a bower of spreading oak trees in a sprinkle of Louisiana summer misting rain, which cleared up quickly.
The preacher joked about how you only hear of runaway brides, not grooms, so made certain she especially was there on her own volition and he was quite impressed by the ring bearer, noting, "Somebody should pay that boy!"
The whole ceremony took only about 20 minutes and the love and care that went into it made it worth much more than many a much more lavish wedding.
#2 Son and His Bride were married yesterday; they will be dropping their dog off here Saturday to head for a honeymoon in Alaska to see the rest of her family who live up there.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
I had a little trouble
as you can plainly see,
there's much more on the outside
than I got inside of me!
So could you change my diaper
and give me a good bath, too,
then you can make one and I'll share
a chocolate sundae with you!
