Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays. Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.
Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you. What better way to start the week than with a smile!
Jock loves him some sticks, and sometimes he just tries to carry around a little more than he can handle.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week. While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border. Charlotte/Mother Owl participates, and now Karen at Baking in a Tornado is jumping in at least once a month, too. Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let Diane know!
This week the theme is Shoes.
I keep comfy shoes
no need to destroy my feet
with awful high heels
*******
Those who go into
debt to buy themselves more shoes
need some sole searching
*******
Not meaning to brag
i am still the same shoe size
as when i married
*******
"I want to run away!"
he heard his little son say.
"I'm so mad and you and mom
I just can't bear to stay!"
"Well, I am going to help you,"
the father told his boy.
"I'll make a packing list, help you
pick out your favorite toy.
"And because you'll be on your feet
all day, we'll go and choose,
at the great big outlet,
a pair of brand new shoes.
"After all, you'll be walking miles
each day looking for food,
to not make sure you've good arch support
would of me be quite rude!"
When his dad put it this way,
the boy did change his mind,
"No, thanks, Dad, I think I'll stay
since now you're being so kind!"

Jock is a determined boy. When the youngest of my brothers was quite small he announced he was going to run away to the Cotter (a well known camping spot) and steal food from the campers. He changed his mind when no-one would drive him there.
ReplyDeleteJock looks to be a strong working dog. Evidently he just needed a chore to do. Your Sparks are very insightful today thank you.
ReplyDeleteWe don't usually carry sticks but we have friends that love to. One needs to be careful because they don't pay attention and they whack other dogs in the head or humans in the knees with them. The shoe sparks today are great!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great series of pictures of Jock! Happy Monday!
ReplyDeleteJock loved the big sticks. Angel Little Bit never cared about sticks. I love to watch them try to get a big stick through a gate or doors. Tons of laughs.
ReplyDeleteLove the graphics and love the poems. He'll stay since dad is being so nice. I didn't see that coming.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Hugs. ♥
Wonderful post ~ especially enjoy Jock with the big stick ~ sweet photos ~ lovely poem and fun post ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

A walk in the park is allways fun
ReplyDeleteJock was really having a BIG time! Such a nice Spark and terrific poems too!
ReplyDeleteThat was fun seeing Jock with his big stick and wanting to corner the market on them.
ReplyDeleteYou go, Jack! Set those sights high!
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! Sometimes the reality of leaving mom and dad is a little heavy! Good recovery for the boy!
Very impressive stick Jock. Great sparks and poems. I only wear flats, have never been able to walk in heels and didn't need them as I am 5 ft 10 inches. XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a fine fellow Jock is. Lovely dog, one who give much pleasure, I'm sure. :)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great poem and I'm glad the little boy decided to stay. My upstairs neighbour once told me as a teenager and in her early twenties she would often starve herself to be able to buy the latest fashion in shoes, always the highest of heels and the pointiest of toes. Those toes are now so mis-shapen I felt sick when she showed them to me, asking what treatment I could recommend for her inflamed bunions.
ReplyDeleteI like your shoe poems. Flats for me too, and good that the little boy stayed after all. Do you have any plans for the - hopefully time limited - take over of Poetry Monday?
