How It Often Works Out (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day and Brian's Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

A few weeks ago, i wrote about Ms. Fiona who is in her mid-80's, alone in the world, lived in a broken down old rented "mobile home," and had two tame cats and several feral cats in a very poor neighborhood.

She has moved into the rehab/nursing facility permanently and Ms. G, who only met her a few months ago but has a habit of picking up stray people who are in desperate straits, has taken on the job of cleaning out her trailer, bringing Ms. Fiona what is salvageable and getting rid of what is not, and dealing with the cats.

It's going to be down to the wire, as everything has to be done by the end of this month so the place is empty and can be rented to the next victim.

The inside stuff is being dealt with, and as always i am a willing conscript in the fray, as yesterday we took all the food we found and either threw it out (if it was old or bad) or packed it to be given away (if it's not out of date, in an intact can or box).

The feral cats are being dealt with as most of them are already fixed, the last two will be fixed soon, and a local shelter has agreed to rehome them as barn cats.

The two tame ones, well, Ms. G had sworn she would not have any more pets in her house when Angel kitty crossed the Rainbow Bridge and has resisted mightily, but the two tame ones were at the vet yesterday getting de-flea-ed and bathed and given shots (they were already fixed) and will find themselves living a good life with the pretends-to-be-tough-but-is-really-a-softie Ms. G.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

As your hygienist, I have to say,

are you sure you're flossing every day?

Those in the back, I do suspect,

are suffering a bit from neglect!

Angel Brian's Family of Brian's Home - Forever hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful to know Ms. G is a softie and those two cats will have a good home for life.

  2. That monkey is hilarious. Mrs G is so nice to help get things cleaned out and to take the kitties. Animals can't help themselves, so it is wonderful when humans look after them and don't let them fall through the cracks.
