Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

People watching was their favorite thing to do when dining out on their monthly date.

The place they'd chosen this time had plenty to see.

One rather colorful gent was doing his best to SLAUGHTER the English language, while his completely COLORLESS dining partner just sat there, silent.

The colorful one had a MUSTACHE, the other was as thin as a JOCKEY.  Mr. Colorful was saying, "If yer gonna ELIMINATE WHISKEY, the populaces will just turn 'round to bootlegged hooch!  It's pure dee WICKEDNESS, them aimin' to make this a dry county!  After all, a man needs a bit of comfort now and again, don't he?"

His dining partner simply nodded, and kept eating.

"I almost wish I had a THERMOMETER" she said, giggling.  "He's so stoic, I want to take his pulse and find out if his body temperature is near normal."

He grinned.  "Yes, and from the way he's talking, I'd say the other one has already had plenty of 'comfort' tonight."

The two finish up, and the thin one paid the tab without a word as they left, leaving the couple to wonder if those two were friends, relatives, co-workers, or what.

Yes, they loved the people watching, it was their favorite night of the month.

As of the time i am preparing this post, the prompts are not up yet.  As soon as they are, and i can get done with work and get to them, i will do my best to get back and get to them.
