Crepe Crazy (Wordless Wednesday) and Words for Wednesday

 ***********************************

Linking up with Wordless Wednesday and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

***********************************

Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.

This month, the prompts are being provided by Hilary Melton-Butcher and are being posted by Elephant's Child.

This week's prompts are:

  • sonorous
  • trenchant
  • cackling
  • hurley-burley
  • confined
  • semolina

And/or

  • nourished
  • grid
  • blue
  • atmosphere
  • notepad
  • porridge

Rolling over in bed, wondering what had awakened me, my bladder decided this was as good a time as any to request a "pit stop."  In trying to sneak out of bed to oblige, the noise that awakened me came again -- a snore.

My Sweetie isn't one to snore often, neither of us do, but it does happen.  Those occasions are CONFINED to when a cold, allergy, or sinus infection is rearing an ugly head.

This snore was not SONOROUS, sounding loud as the satisfied snorts of contentment you'd hear from a pig being NOURISHED by slops made up of PORRIDGE or SEMOLINA pasta. Nor was it vigorously TRENCHANT, something you'd expect to hear cutting through the CACKLING and HURLEY-BURLEY of a city street.  This snoring wasn't going to have anyone turning the ATMOSPHERE BLUE with yells to "quiet down in there! we're trying to sleep!"

No, if you took a NOTEPAD and made a GRID on which to chart a snore, this one would be close to the bottom of that chart, quiet but yet insistent, just enough to keep me awake a while, until my own rustling around in the bed caused him to turn over and stop.  Then blessed peace and sleep could reign for both of us again.

  3. Those flowers are beautiful. I wish Ivor would snore at the lower end of the scale. "the satisfied snorts of contentment you'd hear from a pig being NOURISHED by slops made up of PORRIDGE" describes the noise perfectly.

  5. Wow! Beautiful flowers in full bloom. Hope the snoring is not due to any flu or infection. Whenever hubby's snoring disturbs my sleep, it is usually when he is sleeping on his back.
