Untypical night, wander upstairs tired at 9pm, read devotions and pray, turn over to go to sleep, spend next 3 hours tossing and turning.
Midnight to 2am, doze a bit, and every time i start to fall asleep, Sweetie coughs or i do, start a prayer litany at 12:30 to try to help because sometimes it makes me drift off, but instead actually get through the whole litany because of being reawakened so many times.
Two to 4am, nod off, mostly, only to be awakened by Link Linker the Stinker's snoring -- there's nothing quite like being in bed with a snoring cat -- ask myself why i have cats, then remember it's because i like them so much and they're quieter than dogs, snort.
Take thyroid meds around 4am, doze a bit off and on until 4:45, realize it's time to get up so i won't be late for work.
Get up, restroom, stretch, head for door, almost trip over Tripod SissyCat, almost trip over Link as he races to beat me to the door because, despite his snoring, he is obviously very well rested indeed and is ready for his breakfast.
It's time to get the day started, insulin shot for Dansig the Round, teeth, Bible and Lent study, hit the door running because, no matter how little sleep, there's a full day of work ahead and no time to lounge around.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!
A neighbor has what i call a "mullet fence," after the hairstyle known as a mullet. The fence is business in the front, wild party in the back.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
Man, how did I ever allow
someone to talk me of how
something like this would be so cool
and now I wonder if I was a fool.
It makes people stare and that's no wonder,
the whole car looks like a great, big blunder.
It's hard to steer and hard to maintain,
I'd almost rather a car that looks like a train!
(The driver of this car owns a garage and built it, and i actually think it's kinda cool, but that's the poem which wanted to come out.)

I think that car looks kind of silly. A clever build though. Your six sentences made me feel tired, all that tossing and turning and very few minutes asleep.
ReplyDeleteYuck what a nigth. And I am pissed because the doves woke me up at 5.45 - alarm goes off at 7.00. Maybe because I know this will be standard from now till autumn. Sorry I should have spent the time praying like you instead of getting more and more irritated.
ReplyDeleteThe car made me laugh - and your poem is so good; I admire that uour head works this well after a sleepless night.
Those kinds of nights are the worst! The more you try to sleep, the worse it gets. Love that car. What a fun idea.
ReplyDeleteAh ... fences ....
ReplyDeleteGod bless, Mimi.
What a night that was! I too find my self saying the Lord's Prayer 100 times some nights. It is a comfort even though I'd rather be asleep. And "MeatBall Day", yum.
ReplyDeleteYour story had me yawning and stretching - in a good way of course! I want that car!
ReplyDeleteFun story ~ and great fence photos and yes ~ sleepless nights are not fun ~ sigh ~
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

ReplyDeleteI for one might be inclined to set up a chaise lounge* by the door, the better to getting a quick respite from the morning gauntlet. lol
ReplyDelete* ikr? most weeks I'm scrambling to include the prompt word this week, well, everything's coming up lounge
Bet you daydream of a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah I love a sleepless night - not! Nice to see that someone else starts praying while trying to dose off. I try meditation/breathing techniques, long slow breaths, thinking of nothing else and most time it works but I really need to focus while doing it.
ReplyDeleteThat was quite the story, boy I'm tired after reading that. I enjoyed the poem too and hooray for your thankful. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteI am sorry you had a rough night. I miss my Sammy's snoring. It ever bothered me like my hubby's snoring does. :) XO
ReplyDeleteVery fun Thankful post! Will you be doing Feline Friday this week? I cannot find it! Cheers and hugs!
ReplyDeleteA no sleep Six! Rough nights like that are tough. Lol, love the upside down car!
ReplyDeleteHoly Moley that's a busy night! At least the cat's well-rested, Lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat Ford said...minus thecar! lol
ReplyDeleteI love your poem - as interesting as it is, I hope I never see one on the road like this - it would capture my attention and I SHOULD be paying attention to driving and not that strange conveyance! LOL
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
Sleepless nights are the worst, hoping you eventually got back into your regular sleep pattern
ReplyDeleteIt IS a blessing that sleepless nights are the rarity rather than the norm!
ReplyDeleteThat car sure makes you look twice!
