Our vehicle trouble may be solved in a most unexpected way.
My brother, the children's Uncle P., a former seminary student, has decided to move to NYC for a year to work with a ministry among the homeless. So he is going to be giving his car to us, if it all works out. He will also offer us any of his furniture we would like to have.
His desire is to work there for a year, maybe longer, and eventually move back to south Louisiana to begin such work here.
If this does work out, #1 Son will drive the newer vehicle, Sweetie will get the Sonata (which will be much better on gas than the old van, or even than my van) to drive back and forth to work.
Once Bigger Girl is driving, we hope soon, i will let her use the van to go back and forth to school. That will mean no vehicle for me during their school hours, but that's okay, i don't usually go anywhere at that time anyway. I can get all my errands and appointments done earlier in the day, as their school only goes from 1-5pm.
Now if we could only solve the problem of too many foster kittens in the house that easily.

Sounds like a great plan. I hope it works out for you.
ReplyDeleteWould he perhaps have a table? And forks? Oh, forks aren't furniture, never mind...
ReplyDeleteAnd they have to have a SPECIAL day for chocolate? Huh.
Cat
Thanks, Hilary.
ReplyDeleteCat, i just might ask for forks, i figure he will be getting rid of all of his household stuff.
There are lots of special days for chocolate, in addition to the fact that you should have a little every day.
Mimi, that SO would rock! I have thought about your transportation woes often, as I understand them very much. It would be really great if this could work out for you. It is also pretty neat about what he's wanting to do.
