Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

We were discussing pets with Grandma and Grandpa and we got around to the pet snakes we’ve had.  Snakes have always fascinated me, and i’m not afraid of the non-venomous ones.  Those with venom i give a wide berth, although #2 Son has caught a few of those, too.  He wasn’t allowed to keep them as pets.

Clothile done see her a snake in de kitchen, and while she be screamin’ an’ climin’ on de chair, she be dialin’ de phone to try call Boudreaux to come git it, but he not answer.  Marie done hear de screams from nex’ door an’ done sen’ Thibodeaux over, an’ he done take care o’ de snake, leavin’ it out in de carport.

When Boudreaux done get home, Clothile be tellin’ him, an’ he go over an he look at de snake, an’ he say, “De way you be carry on, I was t’inkin’ it would be bigger.”

An’ Clothile say, “Mais, it be big fo’ bein’ a kitchen snake!”

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.       

We may be mostly swamp down here, but we do get temps right at the freezing point some nights in January and February, or even just a little below that.  When it happens, Mr. BA builds his temporary “greenhouse” and gets all of his plants in there or inside if he can.

You can see through the window the makeshift greenhouse.

The artwork on the walls at one house caught my eye.

It’s looking more like Carnival time.

Of course, the skies always draw me out to take photos.
