The wedding yesterday was lovely, and the weather mostly behaved.
The only alcohol served was some pink champagne for a toast at the end, not at all like so many weddings i've been to where there is an open bar.
Now Boudreaux, he sometime make him some extra money by bein' de one to tend bar at a local weddin'. He be fair good at dat, sure. Den one day, he come home from a weddin' lookin' like he done been in a fight!
"Mais!" say Clothile. "What done happen? Be dere a brawl at de weddin'?"
"No," say Boudreaux. "It be de man takin' de photographs. He decide he want make a picture wit' all de marry couples. So he say, 'All you men dat be married, go stan' nex' to de person who make you life worth livin'.' An' so all de married men come to stan' by de bartender an' I almos' get trample!"

I thought it was going to be mistresses...but the bar is funnier.
ReplyDeleteSo glad the wedding went well. Being one who very rarely drinks I quite enjoy a dry wedding with just a drink for the toast. Sometimes having drink at wedding can just lead to problems - especially when family members who rarely meet suddenly come face to face.
ReplyDeleteLike Tabor, I thought first of mistresses - must be the way my mind works...
I knew the wedding would be wonderful. Excellent.
