My boss at the bakery asked how we were doing, and i asked if she really wanted to know. She said yes, so i told her:
#1 Son has moved home and his new car, still under warranty, is in the shop because the transmission crapped out, and he has jury duty this next week.
Bigger Girl is in a funk, and so is playing sad songs on the piano for hours on end, because her best friend has left to go back up North for work.
#2 Son and his wife and the dog have moved in (with our 8 cats!) because her parents are splitting up and her dad will probably have to sell the farm to give her mom what she wants as a divorce settlement.
Little Girl has stretched herself a bit too thin and is having trouble with her history class.
Red-headed Alec is still not able to get his step-dad to figure out how to get the car he was promised into his name, and he cannot move out without a vehicle.
#1 Son and Red-headed Alec's friend Darla has been thrown out by her fiancé, and she is pregnant and has an 18-month-old, so she and the baby are now staying with us for a while because i cannot let a pregnant woman with a small child live on the streets.
Are we having fun yet? (Actually, i usually don't mind the chaos. Having lots of people here is entertaining most of the time.)
Po' Boudreaux, him an' Clothile's done had dey share o' de trouble like dis. Back when dey girl Adele was datin' dat Savoie boy, she come home one day an' say she t'ink she be pregnant, an' what she goin' do?
An' Boudreaux, he t'ink for a bit, an' he say, "Well, de firs' t'ing we gots to do is get one dem DNA tests, make sure it's your baby!"

ReplyDeleteA teenage soap opera indeed!

ReplyDeleteThis is why I don't like guns. If I had that many people in my house I'd probably blow my brains out.

Wow, you have a house full. Wow. I hope all of them are putting some bucks into the kitty to help out.
ReplyDeleteI love your jokes. Sometimes they can be like blonde jokes. Like today.
