While i'm not sure about a song describing my mood, there are a few that seem to describe a lot of what i do with my life.

It's looking more and more like Sweetie and i will have the condo to ourselves most of the week this time, and here's what i think about that:

By the time we get to that vacation, i think i'm going to really need it. The week before, i am cramming in every client i have to make sure no one has to skip more than one week. It's going to be crazy, but doable.
Bigger Girl is trying to work out a way to move in with Hugging Sam, her friend whose hugs can cure almost anything. If it all works out, that will leave the nest mostly empty, which sounds insane to me. Of course, the kids come visit all of the time, it's never more than a day or two that we don't see them. Their friends come over and meet up with them here, too. That keeps things lively.
#2 Son is setting up the fish tank pumps again, making sure we can pump water out of the laundry area if we get too heavy of a rain. We are hoping it won't happen, but want to be prepared if it does.
The plan to replace the central A/C with window units is proceeding, the next step is to get our generator guy, who is an electrician, to come make sure the places we will be plugging the units in can handle that. There are a couple of rooms in the house that are notorious for the breakers tripping, and we don't want to go to all of the trouble to set up a unit and then find out the wiring won't support it.
My friend DiDreaming could use good thoughts and prayers. She is having some health issues, and her house mate is very ill. It's never easy to coordinate another person's care, and it's worse when you don't feel very well yourself.

ReplyDeleteWhen trying to think of a song to describe my mood I realize that I'm in that totally neutral territory that no one writes songs about! Not happy or sad or anxious or angry or anything, just... here. Can't imagine why that state doesn't inspire anyone to write songs about it...
And wow, the empty nest thing sounds disconcerting. Which is funny because our nest has always been empty! But I can totally imagine how weird it would be to suddenly have no kids around after having a house full for so many years. It's great they visit so much though.
You know Mimi, I never thought about the type of music that makes me feel good. I know that Caribbean music makes me happy even though I may not be on my cruise even though I'll be on a cruise in January.Ya mon. Ha,ha,ha.

I can't think of a song that really describes my mood right now, but over the weekend my husband was trying to teach her three-year-old grandson the theme song to Gilligan's Island. Needless to say, he never seen the show. Anyway, now I can't get that dang song out of my head. :-)

Having the kids gone is weird for about a week or two and then you start to like it. That's what happened here. It gets quiet and your home if finally yours after so many years of it being the kids' home.
