1. An item discontinued that I want brought back is the "slipper sox" Grandma used to get from her favorite drug store, they are the main thing she wears now around the house since she fell last year. She says they were the best ever and she's never been able to find any so good since, and we've tried. She still has some, very worn and not long for this world.
2. I would throw caution to the wind and eat a vegan dessert every day if I could. Alas, even if it is supposedly "healthier," i have to watch myself around treats.
3. It's almost time for our family's first "birthday season" of the year, when most of the birthdays happen, and I can't wait. (Almost all of our family birthdays are clustered in a few weeks in spring and autumn, i think of them as "birthday seasons.")
4. These ARE were the good old days. Enjoy now because you don't want to say at the end of your life, as Colette did, "What a wonderful life I've had! I only wish I'd realized it sooner."

ReplyDeleteI purchased a pair of slipper socks a couple weeks ago, they were reduced to half price so I thought I'd give them a try. I can honestly say, my feet have never been happier!

ReplyDeleteLike you, we have birthday seasons One big in summer (8 of 13 having their birthdays within 5 weeks) and two small ones for the rest now and in December. It is fun, but I miss some birthday fun in those other months. For me the good old days - also when I liver through them - were the year, we spent in Germany, and all the years when my kids were small. I enjoyed every (well almost ... ) moment of it.

ReplyDeleteWe have birthday seasons here, too, especially since our grandbabies have been born. Ours are spring and fall, too. Our oldest daughter and I are the outliers, not really fitting into either one.
Amen to Colette's quote! There's so very much that I wish I had realized sooner.
