Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
A few weeks ago, just before hurricane Francine, mice or rats, or perhaps a few of both, moved into Grandma and Grandpa's house. Before they were evicted, they'd chewed a hole in the dishwasher hose.
Upon its discovery (by the fact there was water in the cabinets and on the kitchen floor), Uncle J decided to move the dishwasher out of the house. When Grandpa asked if he knew how, he hemmed and hawed and got it done, and then they had a plumber in to fix some things which were no longer working.
They still can't use the left-hand sink and we're not sure when the place will be dry enough to reinstall the dishwasher, which the plumber will return to do.
Clothile done decide she done want her de new ceilin' fan, an' she be goin' hire her de 'lectrician so's to have it done right.
Boudreaux be fussin' 'bout how much dat cost, an' Clothile done ax, "How many times you done put up a ceilin' fan?"
An' Boudreaux say, "Mais, dis time an' one more it'll be twice!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.
A few sights of the season (I'm hoping for more of those for next week) and some other simple snaps, including sunsets. Some of the clouds may contain Pebble Grey, Charlotte/Mother Owl's color of the month.
Ms. JAI still keeps up the custom of decorating her tree all year long, I think she's trying to do something for end of summer.

This week, Lulu, Abby and Jack want to join the Kitties Blue at The Cat On My Head for their Sunday Selfies Blog Hop. And as it is Tock-tober Day, we show their wagging, happy tocks. It's Tock-tober Day! We're celebrating on the birth anniversary of Derby. His brother Ducky keeps up the custom, even though he's now at the Rainbow Bridge.
Come celebrate with them!
Abby.

ReplyDeleteI htink Clothilde has the right idea to hire an electrician. I hope the dishwasher situation is soon fixed.
ReplyDeleteI love the autumn decorations and the pretty summery Christmas Tree.
Happy Tocktober to you and those lovely wagging tails! I do like the idea of keeping a tree decorated through the year, with different themes. Talking of trees, you have some wonder pictures this week. Our favourites have to be the two with the view through the trees to water beyond, but it was a close run thing with those sunsets.
ReplyDeleteYou all have a wonderful and nicely spooky and calm run up to pumpkin season!
ERin
Those are some fun photos of inside and outside. I hate to think that Halloween is just 2 weeks away in the next thing you know it'll be Thanksgiving and then Christmas. Time is flying. The dogs certainly look like they're having fun and that's all that matters.
ReplyDeleteFine tocks to tock about!
ReplyDeleteAnd lovely skyscapes too!
A great Cajun joke - I'll remember that answer for next time I'm asked a similar question! Lots of lovely pics!

Great pics. The pups are so cute.
ReplyDeleteThat Christmas tree, because of the flowers and colors, looks almost more spring-like than Christmas, but it's still pretty!
ReplyDeleteYou know... I had forgotten today was Tom Petty's birthday... :/
