Editor's note:
An anonymous commenter asked yesterday how Ms. G knew the escaped cat was down in the drain pipes from the parking lot. When she first ran, it was to the bushes on the side of the gas station. The owner sent out a plea for help on social media and a few cat rescue people came, and while they almost cornered the cat she got away and was seen to go into the drain. Someone stayed through the night watching for the cat to come up, which she did, but when she saw cars or movement, she went right back down there.
If she was still down there the next morning, which with most cats they'd stay put when feeling in danger, putting a baited trap at her only exit was our best hope for getting her to come up for food and then getting her back to her owner.
As of the last i'd heard, the cat had not been caught yet, but i will update if i hear anything.

Feline Friday was originally started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude (may he rest in peace), and i'm going to believe it's because he liked cats.
He handed hosting duties off to Sandee at Comedy Plus, and now she's entrusting it to me.
Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is: Post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (they may be silly or cute). Then add your link!
One thing for sure is this is a fun and easy meme to do. So come and join us in Feline Friday.
What better way to start the weekend than with a feline!
Cashew and his brother only had one toy in their cage at the shelter (some volunteers don't know they should put in at least 3). I brought a few more and Cashew loved the spring toy.
He's a good looking guy.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!
Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:
1. My Christmas tree goes up on ___________________.
2. I am thankful for ______________, __________________ and ________________.
3. I _________ by the time December rolls around.
4. I’ll be spending a lot of time _________ this holiday season.
1. My Christmas tree goes up on the twelfth of never, so to speak. We don't put up a tree, we always had too many kids and cats wanting to tear it down. I now have a metal tree and i might pull it out soon and put some ribbon on it, we will see.
2. I am thankful for salvation, family, and friends, both in person and online.
3. I wonder how i ever got into this line of work by the time December rolls around. After all, everyone wants their house cleaned in the day or two before the holiday if they are having company.
4. I’ll be spending a lot of time working this holiday season.

The two pictures above of Cashew playing with the toy were the best. The rest looked more like this.

Belated greetings for a Happy Thanksgiving! I hope the hiding kitty will get into the trap.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI hope the cat comes up and goes into the trap to eat. Cashew is a sweetie and enjoying the toys you brought him.
ReplyDeleteWe don't put a tree up either. We always used to, and then it was for Eric and Flynn. We used to put unbreakable baubles at the bottom of the tree for them to play with. The good ones went a lot higher up.
Faye loves to play with the spring toy too, Cashew😸You're a sweet guy and we sure hope you find a furrever home soon🙏🏼We also hope that the kitty gets rescued soon, poor kitty🙏🏼Double Pawkisses for a wonderfull weekend to all of you, Mimi🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteCashew is adorable and glad he got 3 toys. your answer about your tree made me think of my friend Eunice. On Christmas Eve, many years ago, I talked her into going to the shelter and getting a cat because she missed her 21 year old that had died. when brought Moses home, named that because she saved him from the bulrushes, took down her Christmas tree first thing in the house. He was a tuxedo cat. the next year I said put a wreath with lights on the wall. ha ha ha ha ha it lasted all of 20 minutes and she never had another tree.
ReplyDeletethanks for fond memories stirred by your lack of a tree. show us a picture of your metal tree please
Sweet kitten pictures today. Certainly do have my fingers crossed for the one that went down the storm sewer. Beautiful flower and I always enjoy seeing them. I hope you have a great friday.
ReplyDeleteCashew is adorable (even in his fail) We're purring for the kitty who went down the drain pipe.
ReplyDeleteCashew is so cute! Paws crossed for Drainpipe kitty.
ReplyDeletePurrs,
The Chans
Adorable kitten. Thanks for hosting Feline Friday and for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I can see how this would be your busy season. I would love to have a professional in before my party. XO
ReplyDeleteThat kitten is adorable. Glad you got him more toys. As for work Mom is also self employed and sometimes there is so much work, she could scream and she gets crabby as she doesn't have time to do what she wants to do but in the end, she remembers our lifestyle is because of her work and there will be slower times ahead so she keeps plugging along. Hopefully you will have some time for the holidays between cleaning jobs.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty flower! Fingers crossed on the poor kitty in the drainpipe. I'm glad Cashew loves his new spring toy. Have a happy Friday and a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCashew really is a good looker! Those were god fill-in answers too.
