Some weeks i almost feel like i skid into Thankful Day and bump into it nose-first; the days are long but the week goes fast. (Some of these are counted up in such a way as to entertain Clark, at least i hope he is entertained by it.)
We are both thankful, Sweetie and i, that the ordeal with Avis seems to be over (hypograt #1).
They agreed with our assessment that we turned the car in on a Wednesday not a Sunday, so we only owed for two days, not seven (sub-grat #1).
They refunded what they said they would (sub-grat #2).
They took the hold off of the additional funds in our account (sub-grat #3).
The credit union gave us a courtesy refund of the overdraft charge because of the circumstances (sub-grat #4).
The credit union also let us use our very small line of credit to cover everything until Avis could straighten it out, and then we paid the credit back, so we didn’t have to worry about anything else overdrafting by accident (sub-grat #5).
Yes, we are thankful that we have a great credit union (hypograt #2).
One of my clients, upon learning that we were in the middle of all this, offered to help us cover it with a loan until we recovered the money if needed, which it was not, but it was a kind offer, and i am very grateful to that client. She also offered to set up legal help if it had been needed, and i am so thankful it was not.
This same client has also said that the next time we want to rent a car, she instead wants us to borrow hers. She is a homebody, and mostly has her husband drive her wherever she needs to go, and she seriously wants us to use her car. We are very thankful for clients who are also great friends.
Finally, i am thankful this week seems to have ended on a positive note, with a nice visit to Grandma and Grandpa’s house.
