Even when the days go sideways!

Ten Things of Thankful

The past couple of weeks have seen ups and downs and more ups and more downs, and a few sidewayses too.  (Yes, i know it isn't a real word, but some days feel sidewayses to me.)

There are still many full on good things for which to be thankful.

Sweetie got a copy of the police report on the accident, and the other driver was "cited for failure to yield."  That makes everything very cut and dry, and our insurance company is trying to get hers to pay for a rental car until we can settle on the value of Humphrey the Honda.

The Jalopy went in for more repairs this past week, and Kevin and Lenny are letting me make payments.

Also the Jalopy is making a new noise that means she will need another repair, but it's not immediate, so the previous repair should be paid off before this other one is needed.

The grandchildren's trust fund is going to pay us back for what it cost to repair Bigger Girl's Ford, Cicero.

Cicero is getting me to see Grandma and Grandpa this weekend.

My friend Script and her husband drove down from Canada to get out of the snow, and i was able to meet them in Natchez, Mississippi, and visit for a day.

#2 Son and Daughter-in-Law Becky are happy to be moved back out to the farm.

Little Girl is enjoying apartment life with her room mates.

All the cats seem to be healthy and doing well.

The weather is beautiful, work is steady, and Sweetie still serenades me with his guitar several nights a week.

See?  Plenty of thankfulness to go around, even on the days that don't go quite as planned.

Link up with the Ten Things of Thankful, and let us celebrate the good things that happen in your life, too!

  2. Happy Weekend, Mimi! I loved this post, because it follows through with your wisdom to always be appreciative for the way God is working things out in our lives! I am praying that you receive a fair settlement for Humphrey, vehicle issues are always stressful and expensive. I am glad you still have a vehicle available to see Grandma and Grandpa, I know they look forward to your visits so much! Sounds like kids and furkids are doing well, and I think you are so very blessed with guitar serenades, nothing is more soothing than sweet music, especially when played just for you! Blessings to you in the coming week! XOXO

  9. I can definitely relate to sidewayses. You do have much to be thankful for and I'm so glad you got to meet your friends from the northern climes. When our children are doing well and are happy, so are we. Enjoy the weekend.

  12. LOL - I can definitely relate to having days that go sideways! Love it.
And car repairs - ugh. Just had to put two tires on the car this weekend due to some metal in one. The worse news is that we still have to do two more. We knew this. The mechanic at the last oil change said we'd need them before summer. But even being prepared, car repairs are never fun.
Hope you have a great week ahead, no matter what direction it goes!

  13. Sounds like you've had more than your fair share of car troubles! Hopefully everything works out with the insurance company--having that police report has to help, I would think.

  14. So the bears are waking up. That's a sure sign of spring.

Driving from Canada to Mississippi sounds like quite the trip. Worth it, to escape snow, but soon we will have warm weather all over.
