Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
Yesterday, as i was driving Grandma on her errands, we got to discussing various people's driving habits. She has a car that has a computer sensor that gets used to the way the main driver handles it, and it really does not react well when someone else drives it. No matter how i baby it, it doesn't like me much, but from what Grandma tells me, it likes Grandpa even less. He takes off out of the driveway so fast that it scares her, but he's always had a lead foot and isn't too fond of stop signs.
Boudreaux don' be too happy 'bout dem stop signs, neither. He done be travelin' way to de North -- Shreveport! -- an' he done get pull over by de officer 'cause o' de stop sign.
After dey argue for a short piece, de officer fin'ly say, "You did not stop for that stop sign!"
An' Boudreaux say, "Mais, I be from Bayou Lafourche, an' down dere all four wheels don' need to quit turnin' fo' it to be a stop!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It is now hosted by River at Drifting Through Life.
River is taking a blog break for now, so Elephant's Child is keeping the meme warm for her.
This past week, for some reason i noticed a lot of the carpets i have to vacuum. Not the wall to wall ones, but the ones that cover perfectly good hard floors that would be so much easier to clean without carpets on them.

The carpets and rugs are pretty, and add a touch of colour, but as well as making your cleaning more difficult they are a trip hazard for those of us who are less steady on our feet.
ReplyDeleteI'm OK with stop signs but as my former roommate used to tease me, "Jz Yields To NoOne"...
ReplyDeleteOf course, she was a weenie driver... ;-p
Rules, rules, rules. Not for Grandpa. LOL The carpets are very interesting. Have a wonderful Sunday Mimi. See ya.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Love the joke. Around here not stopping completely is call a California stop. We don't do those kinds of stops.
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the rugs on those wood floors. What's the point?
Have a fabulous day and week, my friend. ♥
The rugs are beautiful but why cover even more beautiful flooring with trip hazards!
ReplyDeleteMimi,
ReplyDeleteI never understood why anyone would want to spend the money to put down hardwood floors to cover it up with an area rug. If they're so worried then why didn't they just lay down carpet throughout the house. Vacuuming a rug takes a lot extra time because with some you have to be careful with, especially those that have fringe ends. I don't want carpet or rugs in my next house. I'd rather run a damp mop across the floor to pick up the dust. Vacuums just move the dust from one spot to another. :) Our new car has radar senses so when you use crusine control it keeps the spcace between you and the car in from of you at a comfortable distance. That's something we can control, too. DH keeps it set at max distance. It works really great! Now how do we get these fancy car computers to control the idiot drivers requires a whole lot more engineering or a brain transplant. lol Thanks for sharing the Cajun giggles. I hope you and your sweetiepie had a lovely ❤️Day! Have a good week, my friend!
That stop sign rule is so very true here too plus you don't have to stop at a red light unless you are the 4th car.
ReplyDeleteWe call them rolling stops in Jersey, and the cops don;t like them here either.
ReplyDeleteBut those old orientals are beautiful!!
Fun Cajun joke ~ always enjoy them and lovely carpets but you have to clean them all ~ You are a gem!
ReplyDeleteHappy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
Cute joke. I always count 3 Mississippis at a stop sign. Those are all pretty rugs, but I prefer hardwood floors -especially with the cats. :)
ReplyDeleteThe police will be too happy going after drivers that do follow stop signs and bless them with traffic tickets! Lol! Carpets are not suitable for our countries because it is hot and dusty here.
ReplyDeleteI like area rugs and other floor coverings that soften the look of any room, but boy I'm glad I don't have any. All that vacuuming would make me crazy, they gather so much dust!
ReplyDeleteLOL @ the joke heheh!
ReplyDeleteI quite liked the rugs/carpets but they do cause extra work I had one in thehall and kept tripping on it so got rid of it before i went flat n my face heheh!
