It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Dr. D has come to a point where she is going through things like gangbusters, and getting rid of stuff. She had me make two trips to the donation center yesterday. She’s on a tear, that’s for sure.
Of course, a lot of stuff is not in the house (she has a storage shed, a storage unit, and the office), but i think if she gets through the stuff in the house, i can bring the rest in a bit at a time and she will take care of it and realize she doesn’t need most of it.
At one point we were going through bags of purses, and i was checking each one, all pockets and zipper areas, just to make sure. We found the spare key to the van, several cancelled checks, and in one of her nice, sequined evening bags, i found several assorted condoms!
She assured me they were given to her and she had no need of them, but i question how they would have been giving them away at a seminar she attended at a local church. Even the very liberal church she says allowed the seminar to be held there. Then again, some strange things go on in this world.
And at the age of almost 81, she can do as she pleases. It was just very funny when i pulled them out of the purse is all.
In other news, it’s THAT time of year again. Time to tear my hair out over taxes. While i try really hard not to swear, i will admit my thoughts sometimes verge on the profane.
How i wish sometimes i could consider the cats as dependents. They are eating us out of house and home.
Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!

Finding money would have been nice...the condoms much funnier.
ReplyDeleteMost of the meat...95% of it...that I purchase is for my two furry mates! (And I don't buy condoms for them...or for me)! :)
ReplyDeleteI've found money in old purses and jacket pockets too, but never condoms. I'm glad I'm retired and no longer have to do taxes.
ReplyDeleteTaxes! Phew, I'm glad this is automated in Denmark (since sometimes in the sixties) - we only have to control if they remembered all our deductions and such ;)
ReplyDeleteDonkey appreciation day! Nice, I have a co-villager with donkeys, I'm going to tell her, then we can go and appreciate her donkeys together ;)
The more pressing question might be, did she let you throw them out, or did she snag them back? ;-)
ReplyDeleteYes, taxes are frustrating. We should be able to at least claim Vet Techs as dependents since without us they'd be unemployed!
ReplyDeleteSometimes we do find unexpected things inside old purses or pockets of old clothing. I am glad I need not have to stress over taxes since I am retired.
ReplyDeleteIn all of my life I have never had a condom in any pocket, purse, whatever. What does that say about my sex life? Good she has someone like you, though! I am almost doen with taxes and we are retired and they are a bear!!
ReplyDeleteSeveral assorted condoms & 81 years of age. Fantastic for her. LOL We've been trying to get rid of much of our things and we're shocked of all the stuff that we have in our home.Amazing! See ya Mimi.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Love finding the condoms part. That would have given me pause too. Just saying. I did laugh out loud. I am glad you're making progress.
ReplyDeleteOh the taxes. Try living in California where they tax EVERYTHING. Very expensive to live here.
Yes the kitties can eat you out of house and home. So cute though.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday, my friend. Big hug. ♥
Dr. D sounds like my mom- the clutter part, not the condoms :) I have been helping her declutter, unfortunately, all her extra stuff ended up in one of our spare rooms so she still needs to deal with that. I wish cats could be claimed as dependents too :)
ReplyDeleteYou're WW link doesn't work or at least doesn't link here. You are the second person to have a photo or video of Shirley Temple where I've hopped. Happy almost mid-week!
ReplyDeleteAlways very fun and informative!
ReplyDeleteFun post and love the kitty photo!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your well wishes too ~ I am gradually 'on the mend' ~
Happy Day to you,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
The condom discovery in the Dr.'s purse cracked me up!!
ReplyDeleteAnd I need to take a page from her book and go on a tear to reduce the excess I currently have. I have too much stuff - so much so, I still have boxes to unpack from our move into this awesome house 2 years ago! Time to get rid of all the excess!! :)
I'm with you on the tax time - and with 5 cats and 2 dogs, I could use the write-off. ;)
