Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month, the prompts are being provided by Elephant’s Child.
This week's prompts are:
and/or
1 Horizon
2 Tired
3 Coincidence
4 Splashed
5 Holiday
6 Understand
"Hey, Belanta, anything on the HORIZON?"
"No, Stasi, but my shift is almost over and I'm a bit TIRED."
"I'll be up in a minute. You've been on duty up here twice today, what's with that?"
"Aldera is on HOLIDAY and we're all going to be assigned a double at least once for the duration."
"Figures. And is it any COINCIDENCE that little jog away is right in the middle of high season?"
"Oh, you don't say!"
Belanta and Stasi laughed, and finally Teron spoke. "Careful, you two, we can't risk being seen to move or heard in any way, you know that."
"Still as a statue, keep your lookout, report at the end of shift unless it's the Enemy himself. We UNDERSTAND," Belanta sighed.
"Here," Stasi said. "Belanta, go in, quickly, I'm your relief this shift. Teron, your relief is Endea, and right now Endea is saving you a SPLASH of the good ambrosia as I directed."
"Thank you, Stasi, I am most appreciative."
"Let's hope this shift stays quiet."
"Indeed."

Everyone wears gloves it seems these days, not just the janitor. We feel bad for the environment because of all the waste with the gloves and masks too. It is sad.
ReplyDeleteMy wife wanted an angel to put in the front of our yard and I bought one for her.

A brilliant story, no doubt based on fact! Thanks to the label at the bottom of the post I know what's in the bottom of the bin - yuk!
ReplyDeleteI keep saying I will get back to doing this challenge, but I have found blogging difficult in itself...so this Wednesday went on the shelf once again.
