My Sweetie and i were sitting at the kitchen table yesterday (really) and we suddenly started to hear an annoying beep.
Tracking it down, we found our old range/oven set had malfunctioned and nothing we did could get the incessant beeping to stop.
This appliance quit working years ago and the oven part is only used for storage, the top is where the pots and pans live. We'd already switched to induction cookers long ago and a portable oven; this was only plugged in because we hadn't taken the time to pull it out from it's place in the counter and unplug it.
There being no time like the present, especially when at present it is making an annoying sound and won't stop, Sweetie and i dragged it away from the wall, i removed the storage drawer from the bottom so he could reach around under it, and it was unplugged and silenced.
This served two good purposes, it made sure we won't have this problem again, and it gave me my Six Sentence Story for today!
Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Range.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
The people's first pup usta use this door,
he was a pip squeak so close to the floor.
I'm a bigger guy and I gotta say,
once they get a bigger door, get outta my way!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
Today i am thankful for loose house dresses and sandals, as the swamps are hot even though it's supposed to be almost winter.

Smiling at your six sentence story and your poem. Thank you for both.
ReplyDeleteThat would be as irritating as a beeping smoke detector, but at least you can unplug the oven, still use it for storage, and no harm done. The other you have to replace the batteries.
ReplyDeleteIt seems your range did you a favour! Your picture/poem is brilliant!
ReplyDeleteGlad you were able to solve the problem with a simple fix!
ReplyDeleteI like fences. I've installed a fence around the fence we already have.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
That poor dog. He needs a bigger door.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day Mimi.
Cruisin Paul
Our beeping is usually the fire smoke detector and always in the middle of night. I'm glad you got it silenced.
ReplyDeleteLove your thankful and I'd like that because it's comfortable.
Have a blessed Thankful Thursday, my friend. Big hug. ♥
I was sure you were going to find some long lost thing or something equally surprising! That pup poem had me smiling, the picture too of course. :)
ReplyDeletelove the doggie door and chocolate brownie yeah! Good six
ReplyDeleteGreat Six Sentences, love the Pup poem and I think this fence is gorgeous! Have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteThat was a good story and good thinking too. Such a fun poem, poor pup and a really good thankful too. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeletelol ain't it (extra) fun when reality decides to take an active role in art... so many stories so little time.
ReplyDeleteBut some are all Earnest Hemingway and won't even consider taking 'no' for an answer.
Fun Six
That is thinking positively- at least you got a story. :) Cute poem. XO
ReplyDeleteanother good purpose is a chance to clean under and behind. That's a very sweet cottage in the fence pictures. I'm imagining that dog thinking "I smell Christmas!"
ReplyDeleteThe oven's last sigh!
ReplyDeleteAnd yes!, add me to the long list of those who loved the pup poem.
MY GOODNESS! This is my first visit to your amazingly informational and tickling blog and I LOVE the six sentence stories! Wonderful brain behind all of this.
ReplyDeleteOh you were lucky to be able to find the source of the beeping - and do something about it. That poem is really fun!
ReplyDeleteYou have just proved that a range/oven has lots of useful purposes beside cooking.
ReplyDeleteThat's a totally cute poem for Angel Sammy's Poetry Challenge....I kind of think as long as this pup can get his "snooter" out for some fresh air he's happy!
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam and Teddy
So much winning with your 6, and always glad to witness teamwork in action.
ReplyDeleteAnd if that pup doesn't get a bigger door Pronto, he may just crash thru & create his own! 🐶
Those annoying beeps sure can cause havoc! Love the picture! No way he's getting out any time soon! Great poem!
ReplyDeleteI'm dreaming of a warm Christmas! -21 (C) today!
Great words ~ great photos ~ Xo
