It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Because yesterday was Christmas, i am cleaning Carl's place today instead.
Last Thursday, however, i cleaned the house. As i got started, he was preparing to leave for work.
"I want soup for lunch," he told me.
That's not easy, i told him, reminding him he'd need a bowl, which might be breakable, and a spoon. He still wanted soup, and i didn't see what he ended up packing.
I did remind him he'd need a cold pack to keep it fresh in his lunchbox.
If you think he walked out without going and getting one, you'd be right.
Bigger Girl made a whirlwind visit to see as many family members and friends down here as she could between early Thursday morning and late Saturday night. She rode to NOLA with me Saturday, and among other things, she told me about her new phone.
"I just switched out the SIM card and got this new phone, which, well there was some concern about the biometrics, meaning if they steal your phone they're going to have to steal your finger, too, but turns out your finger has to be at human body temperature or it doesn't work, and that's funny to me that that's something they actually care about, right?"
That is an almost exact transcript of what she said, as fast as i could catch it.
She also told me about the way she and her roommate have decorated for Christmas.
"We decided to go with a dinosaur theme, so we have a tree-rex! It's a 3-foot tall t-rex skeleton with decorations on it."
Little Girl, her boyfriend, and Coda also came on Saturday to visit Grandma and Grandpa.
Little Girl was telling us about a friend and said something which made it sound like she'd used a "naughty" word, although she hadn't.
Grandma, who'd been in a different conversation, stopped and said, "Did you just use a naughty word? Somebody get the soap!"
Little Girl responded with, "You'd have to catch me first!"
Grandma said, "You'd be amazed how fast I can be on this walker."
Then Little Girl admitted, "Yeah, I believe it, I've been chased by an elderly person in a wheelchair before."
Meanwhile, Sweetie called me to ask a question, and after i answered he said, "Well, I guess I should have known that, but it would take common sense, right?"
My response was to ask if he was telling me he had no common sense, because if he was, i might agree with him!
Yes, we have fun when we get together.
Some funnies to cheer us the day after Christmas.
Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a busy and entertaining Christmas. Now to see what the 4 day work week brings, it is always an awkward time for real estate.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas though it is the day following. XO to you. That tsunami you told us about just blew my mind! I can't even imagine such a horror.
ReplyDeleteBeing with family over the holidays is everything. Getting to laugh at all the fun and funny conversations later is just the icing on the cake.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a great time with family. I laughed with Mr. Sweetie and common sense. Some folks have it and some don't. It's all good.
ReplyDeleteLove all the funnies and the tree comes down the day after Christmas. I'm ready for spring.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥
