Ms. G wants to stay home and organize her own house and do her own projects; Ms. G spends almost all her time doing everything but that.
Ms. G is the kind of realtor who walks into some pretty tatty places, homes that have been treated horribly by renters, homes that have had the same couple in them for 50 years and at the end they couldn't keep up and let the place go somewhat to ruin, places that haven't seen a lot of love or care in a long time, mostly belonging to friends or family of friends, neighbors, people she grew up with, etc.
She hires workers (the good ones she's worked with for years), gets initial cleanouts done, gets walls repaired and painted, flooring replaced, doors rehung, whatever it takes (all paid by the owner) and gets them sold, that's what buys her groceries and makes the payments on "Patience," her camper.
As a favor to the painter, she hired his daughter to do a cleaning on the house he was working in, but when she went in to inspect the work, the young lady had fallen way short of the mark, as her father agreed.
Yesterday, instead of the two of us being able to tackle those long deferred projects at her house, we went to the place she's readying for sale and armed with Ring King, 409, steel wool, rubber gloves and an attitude, i attacked the bathtubs with a vengeance, as well as scrubbing toilets, vanities, and getting paint and crud off mirrors.
It's not how she wants to be spending her time when she has me on Wednesdays, but for the present, it's the reality of her life.

with the whole family.
The kids are now in the big kid swings

ReplyDeleteI never thought a dog would enjoy swinging. Nice photo and poem.
Without doubt you are one of the workers Ms G trusts - with good reason.
ReplyDeleteSmiling at your poem and the pooch on the swing.
We have to tell Granny that we have the wrong fences, as these are so much better for us to..errrr...stay in😹Lovely poem. Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day🐾😽💞
ReplyDeleteAs usual the fences are fun, thanks. It certainly sounds like you two women had your hands full of cleaning.
ReplyDeletehey! I've seen that done (up here)
ReplyDeletetransformation can be fun
Mom is a Realtor, but she has a transaction coordinator business, so she works at home with us and handles all the paperwork for listings and sales. She also deals with homes like theses. It is often very sad, but her clients have people that will do the work that needs to be done to get the house spiffed up and sold.
ReplyDeleteI like your fences today. God bless, Mimi.
ReplyDeleteWe are in awe of you and your skills in scheduling and organizing to get all that cleaning up of houses done. It's an amazing skill to have. Not everyone can do a proper cleaning either. Kudos to you! xo
ReplyDeleteOh dear, all that cleaning.... not for me!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, photos and some weeks are like that ~ like the fence photos too ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days ~

Sounds like it was a bit of crazy, but glad you could get it all taken care of. I had a bit of a busy week, mostly because things seemed to not be able to show up when I needed them to... Sigh. Oh, well.
