Farming Techniques (Cajun Joke), Sunday Selections and Sunday Selfie

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

It was wonderful visiting with Bigger Girl at Grandma and Grandpa's house on Friday, and the meal Bigger Girl cooked for us was delightful.  Even Grandma loved it.  I'm grateful for chefs, and for the farmers who grow the food.

Boudreaux allus done have him de garden out back, an' one year Thibodeaux's wife, Marie, done be visitin' Clothile an' she see de tomato plants an' all de tomatoes be dis pretty pink.  She ax, "How you get dem tomatoes to be dat color?" 

An' Clothile say, "I don' know, Boudreaux done dat, you's gots to ax him."

So later Marie ax Boudreaux, "How you done get dem tomatoes to be dat pretty pink color?"

An' Boudreaux say, "You gots to blush de tomatoes."

An' Marie say, "What dat mean?"

An' Boudreaux say, "Ever' mornin' I done gets up an' go outside afore it be light, an' I take off my clo'es an' run nekkid in de garden an' it make de tomatoes blush."

Well, Marie t'ink dat be crazy, but she decide dey gots a high 'nuff fence an' since it be befo' sunrise, she be goin' try an' get de tomatoes to be dat color.  So she go out an' run in de garden nekkid ever' mornin'.

Later, Boudreaux done ax, "Marie, did you start blushin' you tomatoes?"

An' Marie say, "Well, I done be runnin' in de garden nekkid ever' mornin' an' my tomatoes still be green, but mais! my cucumbers already be 10 inches long!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please.  It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child.        

It's starting to light up around here, and sometimes there are other things which catch my eye, although there haven't been many "spectacular" sunsets lately.
