Covering Mother’s Day and More, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

It's all the way to Thankful Day and i've hardly gotten over Mother's Day.

I was thankful Little Girl was able to come the day before and visit, and i was thankful she took my wedding dress.  She may or may not use it (or part of it), but either way, it's not loitering in the back of my closet any longer.

On Mother's Day, i was thankful we chose to eat a bit later in the day so Sweetie and i could get to church, and i was able to take Becca and he to sing as always.

We dropped gifts off to Ms. D and Ms. JAI, and i was especially thankful we got to do the latter.  None of her 5 living children acknowledged the day in any way.  We gave her roses and chocolate covered strawberries.

The BBQ went well and we were all thankful for good food, laughter, and i was thankful to hold our little Annie and feed her banana and avocado (her favorites).

I was very thankful Grandma enjoyed it.

#1 Son was thankful to be able to come see me after work.  His boss had made their Mother’s Day very difficult by scheduling him, one waitress, one cook, and one delivery driver.  Yes, that was it, on the busiest restaurant day of the whole year.  I was thankful he survived.

Today i'm thankful Bigger Girl sent me a Mother's Day card, which finally arrived.

Our second Monday of the month evening ladies' meeting went well, i was thankful to be there and learned to play "Mexican train" dominoes.

I was also thankful to get rid of all the leftovers from Mother's Day in the convenient stomachs of one of our member's teenage sons.  No food ever escapes in that house.

Ms. G was thankful to be able to stay home and we got some stuff done at her house for once.

One of the A/C units at the cat shelter is not working right now.  We're thankful the other one is, although it's not enough to cool the building, it's enough to keep it from getting dangerously hot.  The director is thankful it's just a thermostat which will be replaced Monday.

We're also thankful for patient volunteers who worked in the heat, and equally patient members of the adopting public, coming in and spending time and adopting, there were 3 adoptions while i was there and more were looking.

Bonus, i'm thankful Sweetie's phone was in Brother-in-Law's car and he could see it light up (he has a bad habit of leaving the ringer off).
