Feline Friday was originally started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude (may he rest in peace), and i'm going to believe it's because he liked cats.
He handed hosting duties off to Sandee at Comedy Plus, and now she has entrusted it to me.

Pumpkin is the cat who bit me a couple of weeks ago when i was doing caretaking. He's not bad, just jumpy and easily overstimulated, even if all you are doing is giving him food and he's in another part of his very large cage.
He has a treat dispenser. I now fill it up before tending him, and it generally keeps him distracted long enough for me to get everything done.
I dare not open his cage to get a better picture, he would try to get out and it's very hard to get him back in.

Six weeks was a long time to be without electric. I think the longest we have been without was a week, but that was a long time ago, and they renewed all the posts and put in extra fuse poles. In recent times we are usually out for a maximum of about 10 hours.
I can also remember phone numbers, names and addresses from years ago, but I wouldn't have a clue what most people's phone numbers are now with them all being stored on the phone.
Happy first day of spring and hope there's many more honey bees soon. We're having a break in the weather this weekend and I'll take it. Pumpkin looks to be a sweet kitty in his very own specific way. Hopefully this won't stop him from getting adopted. Happy Friday

ReplyDelete6 weeks without electricity sounds like a lot. When we moved here, we lost electricity frequently, but never for that long (I think the record was 1½ days). It would be a very unpleasant experience if those 6 weeks were in the cold season.

caged animals hurt me to the bottom of my soul. I just can't stand thinking of a cat in a cage like this. we did use a training crate on our first puppy but I suffered the whole first year, even though he was in for only 4 hours since I worked part time.
ReplyDeleteOverstimulated - that describes my Tinker Bell. She doesn't bite at all, but she does scratch if the slightest noise startles her. I'm terrified of bees, but I respect their place in this world. Beautiful picture! :)
ReplyDeletePumpkin shares his name with my neighbour's cat. I fed him for 2 weeks a while ago and only ever saw a glimpse of him, usually his tail as he disappeared under furniture. Great fill-ins, mimi. I admire your imagination. As you welcome spring, we welcome autumn, my favourite time of year.

ReplyDeletePumpkin is a very handsome lad, I wonder if it would help to explain to him what you are doing, "I have brought you some food, I am going to open the door and put it in your dish"...etc. I remember doing this when I needed to pull an infected rose thorn from Angel and he lay completely still while I did that then applied a diluted antiseptic.
