Ms. G is, as always, busy as a one armed paper hanger with everything and everyone, so much so she can't do what she wants, which is take her boat out and float the day away; she just can't swing it.
For now, though, she is all business as she works on getting a house cleared out and ready for the closing date. The seller (her client) is the son of an old friend who died, and as part of the pay for her getting the house ready to sell for him, she is being given a good many items from the house.
Yesterday we made three trips over there to load up her truck and move those things into her storage unit. A few of them will go to her new place in the country where she hopes to retire one day.
The rest, well, "when things slow down" she plans to sell them online along with a lot of the contents of her house so she can retire and move, but at her pace i can't see her packing her bags any time soon, she's too busy with clients to get to her own stuff.
Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Swing.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

The beauty strikes me every time
I come home for a short stay

I ever moved away.

we love the poem... and we love corn dogs...
ReplyDeleteLove the image and poem, I would love a view like that and a room of books. Mrs G is a force of nature.
ReplyDeleteGood job on the poem - if I had that view I'd have a terrible time leaving it even for a day. It looks like I imagine heaven to be.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Pam
you sure do find interesting fences. if I ever get out again I might try finding one or two. When I first started in 2009 I did the Friday Fences thing. What a super idea to sell/use the items to help her retire. with her energy levels she might never retire. I sold RE for 4 years in 1990's and one of the women in our office was 82 and going strong
ReplyDeleteGood luck to Mrs g. Of course I always like the fence pictures that I see this one is decorated with some kind of symbol or family name. Good poem. Happy Thursday
ReplyDeleteThe way she keeps going, one day she will fall over and then there will be storage units full of stuff for someone else to take care of. She needs to take a break, relax, and start working on her projects that are already there, not start new ones.
ReplyDeleteIf that was my room, I would not have left! Good poem.
ReplyDeleteLovely poem! Good Six too (but dear Ms G don't work so hard... eh?)
ReplyDeleteAnother good fence.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Lulu: "The sign says 'welcome' in French, right? But the fence kind of says 'keep out' ..."
ReplyDeleteYou are always so busy ~ glad Slo Mo was taken care of with the oil ~ Hugs ~ ^_^
Petonets, Mimi.
an old saying, "Want something done right away, give it to a busy person"
ReplyDeleteHaving done that (oversee the clear-out of a formerly occupied home) I can appreciate how much work it can be!!
I am so happy my life has slowed down to a comfortable crawl!
ReplyDeleteNice poem. Glad there was no damage to Slow-Moe.
ReplyDeleteMs G certainly keeps you on the hop! I hope she appreciates all you do for her.
ReplyDeleteMs. G. is as busy as you are on Carl Day! Good poem and an excellent Thankful. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteNice thankfuls and great poem. XO
ReplyDeleteWhat a terrific story! And I LOVE your Poem! Mimi, you always make my day! I love reading you words (almost) everyday! Sorry I don't comment more often! Barb
ReplyDeleteI loved your poem. If I lived there I would never leave
ReplyDeletesounds like Ms G needs to stop collecting, and get to selling! or maybe just take a break from it all and swing some time to float her boat!
ReplyDeleteA room with a view. What a lovely poem and picture.
ReplyDeleteIronically it reminds me the family am staying with a few days a week. They are collectors, they have so much cool stuff from around the world, little knick-knacks and such. When we were moving and the things eventually got packed... Everything felt empty and not homey. Maybe that's why she doesn't get to the selling part.
